El Doctoro, We're trying to decide! Wild Horses is definitely a contender though. (I know you said once you wouldn't mind hearing me cover it ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/wink.gif) ) And I wouldn't mind doing it, actually. Jumpin Jack F. is one of my faves too (remember Aretha's SCORCHING version of it in the 80's)?? We'll let ya know when we decide. Which three are you guys doing?? Oh, yeah. We may see if Mike wants to pull some double duty and play bass with us for the show since you all are there anyway...I think Billy's pretty booked up and we'd love to have Mike if he's interested in helping us out too. Tell him I'll give him a ring this week. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/biggrin.gif) Anyway, whoohooo--gonna be FUN!! Much L, Cin [This message has been edited by Cindy LaRosa (edited 06-17-2003).]

We're doing Happy, Dead Flowers and Jumpin Jack Flash's Blues...and yes Aretha's J.J.F. is scorching. Call me and I'll give you Mike's phone number. Peace, Doc

Actually, after last night's session we may do I Just Want To make Love To You. The Stones did it way back on their first or second record, and our version is coming out pretty well. Slow and menacing, big and sexy in a scary kinda way. So many songs, so little time... Peace, Doc

BUMP!! Don't forget this one's coming up the weekend after next!!We hit the stage at Skipper's Smokehouse a little past noon...July 26th. (We are in the 12Noon to 2pm slot). Some outstanding artists are in the same timeblock as us: Anna O. (SUPER pop artist - got some cd's out and plenty of radio play), The Shaguars (Jimmy James and the Velvet Explosion Reincarnated!! If you've heard Jimmy throughout the years around here, you know what a treat this is.) Red Velvet Stereo, Gumbo Boogie Band and Big Wigglers!! All great acts you're sure to enjoy. WE will be playing: Wild Horses, Honky Tonk Women, Gimme Shelter (and possibly Miss You) all with our own N2S MMMPFH! LOL ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/biggrin.gif) Please come out and support the radio station that supports local talent and the community and help us Celebrate Mick's 60th!! We know it's early in the day, but let's come out STRONG and kick off this concert right!! Bring some friends and we'll have a blast. And don't forget, Doc's band will be hitting the stage in the 8pm-10pm timeblock so get there early to catch them too!! Much L, Cindy and Frank

Thanks Al and Doc!! Love you both.
Hey Jak, thanks for your input - here's my reply from the other post. Thanks for the suggestion and we love you. See below:
Thanks for the idea Jak! Tis something to think about. WMNF has NOT been playing our music at all or supporting us - but we already still support them in that we are coming out strong to help with their building fund benefit concert on the 26th! WHY? Because they DO support artists like YOU!! And John Land. And James Hawkins. And many, many other wonderful artists that we'd all be missing on the radio if they didn't.
If we feel we can financially swing this maybe we will! Thanks for the idea...even if we fill the room to the brim, me, Frank, Al and Rich are already going to barely break even so giving money to the station would just put us in the hole. But we can consider it nonetheless. Thanks for pitching in!

Everybody surely was impressed with you guys, wish I could've caught it. Things are a bit wierd in Doc's world this week, not bad just wierd. Call me if you want the sordid details lol. Good week musically though, JPF meeting Sunday, Johnny G's jam Wednesday, JPF Atlanta Thursday, acoustic set today, full on Punks throwdown today, and Sarasota tomorrow with James and Tom...Damn I AM the hardest working man in showbiz *LOL* P&L, Doc

Hi guys, Becky and I got to Skippers at about 4:15 and the first person we saw was Maggie hanging out by the rear stage door. She told us that N2S kicked off the event with a bang and all the radio people were saying "Who are these guys (and girl)" they were very happy with ya'll and you made a big impression. About 10 minutes after we got there we ran into Doc and the music was continuous with one band after another playing Stones tunes in verious style from metal to bluegrass....very cool. James Hawkins arrived shortly afterwards and the party began. I was introduced to Flee who is on staff with radio WNMF and after talking with him awhile he said I could get up between bands and make an announcement about JPF meetings at Johnny G's and about our upcoming concert at The Largo Cultural Center on Auguct 23rd.It was well received and after that I talked to alot of folks interested in JPF.Cool again! One of the bands canceled about 6PM and Doc got to get up and do a solo three song set and the crowd loved him. Most of the other entertainers were good but Doc does Rock and Roll and lets face it the Stones are....... After about 6 more band it was the Blues Punks turn to play as a full band and Ive got to tell you in all honesty they LIT IT UP!!!! The crowd was louder than it had been all day and we started dancing. Doc, Mike and Jimmy had the biggest grins while performing and and all thier high energy was contagious. If you ever get the chance to go to one of these WMNF events GO! Great venue, well organized, excellent entertainment, great friendly crowd, food, refreshments, the sound and the stage were very well managed also. I really wish we could have gotten there earlier but after coming off the road for two days etc....... Al

Sounds like JPF members were well received! I'm glad Al was able to get up and talk about what we're trying to do! It would be great to have even more "new" faces at the next meeting. Donna ------------------ http://donnaklein.com

Wow! It sounds like ya's all had a rip-roarin party! Don't sweat it...we missed you guys, but we understand. (Hey Doc, it's cool. We'll just come bless you - (or curse you? LOL) with our presence one night at the Wednesday night jam at Johnny G's next time you're hosting and do those Stones songs for ya!) Anyway, I'm glad to hear we made a good impression with the station and with the folkies hanging out and we're glad your road trip went well. And yep, maybe there will be some new faces at the next JPF meeting! Stay cool & see ya soon, Cindy and Frank [This message has been edited by Cindy LaRosa (edited 07-27-2003).]
