Hello, JPF friends. Becky Wright here (from Oklahoma, USA). On June 3rd I won (with my recording partner) the title of "Duo of the Year", for our adoption song duet (which I also wrote), "Child of My Heart". This was at the KNGR Radio-sponsored 12th Annual Agape Fest in Texas. The Awards Show (on which I performed, the duet and as a soloist for my "Female Horizon" Top 5 nomination) will be televised later this summer on Global Network out of Nashville. This song (Child of My Heart) has also been the subject of several radio interviews, one of which is on my website at www.beckywrightsongs.com It is with Australian radio producer, Don Taylor, who produces the syndicated show God's Own Country, which is aired on over 300 stations weekly, around the world. Last week I received an invitation from the state of Oklahoma to perform the song (AND songs from my new album!) at the Nov. 15th annual "Adoption Celebration" which has been held yearly at the State Capitol Building. The venue is changing this year to the brand new (state of the art, I'm told!) Conference Center of the Moore-Norman Technology Center in Oklahoma City, OK!! We're so excited! It's not a paying gig, but we (Tommy Brandt and I, who recorded the song with me-- who ALSO has won "Male Vocalist" and "New Artist of the Year" 3 or 4 times in various organizations over the last 24 months!) get to share OTHER music, too, and sell product. There will be an official Governor's Proclamation, Awards Ceremony, TV/Media, "mingling" (while we sing), other hoopla!! This song is pretty "country" or "inspirational country", but my main genre is contemporary/inspirational Christian (for recording, anyway-- I write in many genres, and for other artists), and my new album (No Denying) just released commercially and officially on June 13th (with Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning Lamon Records, produced by Dave Moody of the Moody Brothers) www.lamonrecords.com . The first single, "While It is Day" is already in the Top 40 of the www.indieheaven.com Radio Chart, and will be on the July I-disc (comp disc of top Christian indie artists). The Top 40 Chart each month is published in Christian Radio Weekly, which also publishes the major label top songs every month. "While It is Day" (1st single from Becky Wright's new album, "No Denying") will also simultaneously be released on the latest Lamon Records Comp Disc, which goes out to approx. 1200 radio stations nationwide, and in other countries. Thanks for listening/reading!! ------------------ Agape Fest 2006 Duo of the Year Winner! Inspiring original music at www.beckywrightsongs.com . Serious Christian songwriter? Need AWESOME exposure? "Parents are notorious for telling you not to do something, but not telling you WHAT to do instead. So here are my thoughts. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, give it a manicure. Don't burn your bridges, go out and build more! And of course, Don't run with Scissors, use them to cut out your press clippings!" -Brian Austin Whitney
