I recently played in Phoenix and got asked to do "Sweet Home Alabama", "Margueritaville" (sp?), "Let's Get Drunk And Screw", anything by Louden Waynright (sp?), and any Phil Collins. After stump-the-original-musician-guy got underway, some vocal audience member shouted out "****ing shut up and let the guy play." Then he spoke out again and said "Just play YOUR songs, you ****ing rock!" At which the crowd did get back into the show.

That was a fun little gig. Actually, I ended selling a CD to the girl that booked the show. She liked me so much she wanted to pay for it. Then said she wants to bring me back to open for a National Band (with my band of course), and also to play solo in a new VIP lounge they have.

Needless to say, I was quite happy at that.

I do have about 3 1/2 to 4 hours of original material that I can do. But I do ocassionally learn a cover. I know about 3 at the moment.

I have to thank Jody Gnant for getting me to drive my Butt to Phoenix and playing two shows in one evening. One at her cool event, that had a kickin' outdoor stage and another at the infamous Cooperstown. I definietly plan on going back!
