I participated in the CMT/NSAI Songwriters Open Mic competition at Mars Music in Raleigh, North Carolina last night. My song "Love's Revolving Door" was selected as one of the 3 local level winners. That got me a free pass into the national competition and a $25 gift certificate to Mars (which I used last night since Mars filed for bankruptcy yesterday).
