This is on another board, but I guess it's OK to also put it here:

We have a song "Hold Onto Your Dreams", that has been licenced to Fashion Television three times, and is aired on the E Network and other cable stations in 48 Countries. The thing that we really liked about all that, is that the second show used the song to go with The Beatles, and the third, to go with Yoko and John Lennon footage, about Yoko's art. Being long time Beatle fans, it was a honor to learn of the projects, and then to see them on TV, and now to have a VHS of the shows sent by the Producer, Howard Brull. (Getting them onto DVD soon).

I think I said before there would be a billion people who would see them, but it turns out to be only a couple of million or so! A "lot of folks" anyway!

For any Beatle fans, or of any artists, if you get the chance or luck to have one of your songs play while they are on the little screen, you'll know how we feel. It may not be major as it would relate to a hit record, or a huge film score deal, but we'll take this accomplishment and be proud of it. Who else gets to have their song play while The Beatles are being talked about and shown?
Hope "you" do, if a Beatle fan in the least.

And especially "Ron Signorelli", who wrote the lyrics and played everything but the piano, and sounded like all The Beatles, plus doing a Lennon-like vocal.

When they liscensed this, did they offer any money or was it just a permission thing? Do you get some acknowledgement in the credits so folks could find you if they wanted to?

Hi Brian! (great new forums! Thoughtful!)

Yes, we received the lowest "no charted or hit song" standard Canada License fees for each of the shows, (three so far). $300 for the first two. In fact they were ligit to the point of increasing the fee to us for the third show, (to $500.), as the standard must have increased. We wouldn't have known about it, so we look forward to working with them long term, for other songs as well. (Fashion Television is the show, but it's through "City TV" that all business gets handled). They even answer email and phone calls!

For whatever reason, Fashion Television doesn't credit any indie artist at the end of the show. It credits the music supervisor.
That's the part we really don't like, but still have to go with having our song on there, in hopes someone will call the show about the song, or go to their website where we are listed in the credits. http://www.fashiontelevision.com/showinfo/index.asp?thisInfo=29 (The Aldridge segment where The Beatles were in moving video to our song, because of the work Aldridge did with his graphic artwork of them). The page for Yoko Ono's segment, (with John Lennon in much of the video, and again to our song), is not there, but they keep changing the pages, and will be up again I'm sure,,,,,,I hope! ,,,,,,And really, for the heck and fun of having our song playing along with you know who on TV in 48 countries! That alone is success!

John--That's fabulous!!! I would be very excited. It is a shame about the credits, but great about the cash! I'm sure it doesn't seem like a lot to some, but too me it would be great to be paid anything for my music. Thanks for the motivation.

Were they drawn to your work by the promotional copy on your site or the song titles?

Howard Brull, (the producer and music supervisor), just said that he really loved the "Lennon sounding" song, it's message, and is a big Lennon fan. He also said that he would "find segments" to use it in.

I guess he also read our promo. I know he breezed through our titles, as he asked to send a CD of "Dreams" and any others "from there" that we feel might be of his show's style, and not necessarily Beatle sounding.

I know, a few more words in the show's credits wouldn't be that hard to do, or cost that much more. Wonder why that show doesn't do it, for anybody? OH well. If someone likes the song or our writing that much, I guess they would research it. "If it's meant to be", as they say. If not,,,,not.

Congrats! Isn't it an awesome feeling knowing that your music is out there touching people? This is great exposure and I hope you get even more "work" from it all!

Yes it is Marla, ("hopefully" touching people). BUT, Ron, the one who did most of the work on that song, is just now back in the throws of alcoholism, sadly to report.

We're hoping he has it in him to seek the help he needs, now more than ever. His overall health gets worse each time.
