Hi Folks,
We have long wanted to create a Just Plain Notes newsletter column that briefly touches on the success stories of our members around the world. We're not looking for simple Press announcements (like new CD releases, show info etc...) because we have a member press release message board for that specifically. What we DO want is info on Awards, publishing deals, label deals, promotions if you are an industry professional, or anything relating to a success in your career that you'd like to share.
We'd like to have a regular newsletter column that will briefly touch on as many success stories as we can. We'll need a lot of posting and activity here to support a regular column, so the rest is up to you.
We'll also be working with member Juliette Riedl from Los Angeles who plans to promote these success stories in the context of her radio show AND will be working with us for a new area of the website to do the same thing.
So post away and tell us all about it!

Hey everyone,
I spoke with Juliette tonight (who, by the way is having her OWN success stories as we speak as an actress!!!) and we are going to be putting together the first column mentioning all the success stories that are posted here. We will include all of the stories currently posted and if you have something to share, be sure to get it in to make the column!

Thanks Brian : ) I'd like to post my own (music related) success here too: August 18th will mark the 1 year anniversary of my weekly webradio broadcast, "Juliette's Open Mic Radio Show" on KCLAFM.com! Upon moving from NYC to LA about a year and a half ago, I answered a listing for radio DJs/announcers thinking a graveyard shift at a radio station might be a good way for a night owl like me to help finance my newly chosen career (acting) while getting some on-air experience for potential voiceover work. Although I soon learned that I was NOT signing up for a job, but agreeing to finance my own radio show (for which I could solicit sponsorship) . . . this is one personal investment that has turned out to be very fulfilling for me, on many levels. * I've had the pleasure of meeting so many talented singers/songwriters/musicians and industry folk while scouting out material for my shows. * I feel privileged to be among the first to receive newly released CDs - and I know how hard it is to part with them when you're first starting out! * I am blessed to have access to a medium that can expose such talent to the world, free from local frequencies or the monopoly of certain radio giants and the decisions they make about their play lists. * I thoroughly enjoy creating themed shows that highlight well-written lyrics and motivate, console, stimulate, or communicate feelings that we all share at one point or another. * I am happy to hear the success stories of the independent artists I feature and hope that in some small way I can play a part in their future success. Thanks to all the JPF members who have shared your music with me and my listeners. I've gotten so much positive feedback from the community and am proud to provide an outlet to showcase your talent to the world! Stay tuned for more success this year - for everyone involved!!
