Nice job everyone on the showcase last night. All the acts sounded great. I've noticed as these showcases have gone on, the acts are sounding better and tighter than ever. The Feast really kicked ass last night as did my personal faves, the Crack Babies. Thanks to Carl and Dean for the sound system and for setting up the date, to the Crack Babies for the drum kit, and to Mike Meal for all of his efforts.

Hey all, Jeff and I had a great time performing last night. Thanks to Carl for assisting with the ramps so that Jeff could get in and out. Thanks to all who put their efforts into making it the smoothest showcase I've participated in since I've been at JPF. Great job by Carl and Dean coordinating the acts and for doing the sound! And to Mike for coordinating the chapter. I would also like to apologize for not being present at the last couple of meetings. In fact, I have a gig the night of the next meeting on Feb. 7th. But, as some of you may have seen on my schedule, I've been very busy. I just found out today that I have a booking in Rochester for April 16th. Anyway, I don't want anyone to think that I started out gangbusters and then lost interest. I would like to host the next acoustic showcase if someone is needed to do so. Well, take care... I'll see ya around.
Best, Davey O.

I continue to be amazed at the way these shows come together. I was talking to my sister earlier and she agree'd. "Must be a good recipe" she said. It is indeed. Thanks go out to everyone who's hosted played or attended these events. And also to Brian Austin Whitney who came up the idea and has continued to spread it tirelessly across the country. I look forward to seeing some new faces at our next meeting on Fri Feb 7th at 151 wheatfield st in North Tonawanda. This one will be fun with a jam session from 7 to 10pm and a short buisness meeting afterward. Don't forget to check BRRTV.COM for broadcast times on Buffalo Rock Review. Rich said he plans to air about two Just Plain Folks per week which means we'll have a presence on the show for the next6 weeks or so.

I am SICK of all of these 'casuals' trying to muscle in on our territory. Once you let one in, then they tell their friends, and relatives, and bowling partners. Before you know it, the whole e-neighborhood has gone to hell! Our property values bottom out, and we are the laughingstocks of the country club!

Post-it stickers. Great idea! Is that what you used? If you made it to a serious level, anyone can make it! Originally posted by deanbell: Whooa! slow down ya gotta walk before you can run (with the big guys) I would suggest you practice at home with the "post-it" stickers on your fridge perhaps and when you are ready we (Serious Contributors) will give you your final exam (for a small fee of course)and issue you your Serious Status. or when you reach 40 posts

WOW, as to being a casual observer, sorry that I have 2 jobs and a house to take care of and that I have a life outside of a music hobby. Maybe I should quit all that and become a full time musician and sleep in a cardboard box while I'm at it, maybe eat out of a dumpster too! I'm in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
