Happy New Year, Everyone! Meeting time again, yay! Monday, January 19, 2004, from 7-9PM. Directions to Joey's studio are included at the end of this letter. Our presenter this month is Alicia Rodriguez, from SEVEN Graphics in Orange. She is a professional graphic designer who has credits with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Capitol Records, Sheryl Crow, Everclear, Garbage, Wycliff Jean, and Matt Damon. Her presentation will include the "abc's" of cd/album design, and how to maximize your designs on cd projects so that they are attractive to consumers and maintain commercial appeal. She has some great stories about her experiences in designing artwork for many music celebrities, as well as things to consider in developing cd packages, promo packages, posters, and promotional artwork for bands and solo artists, even on a budget!. She will also answer questions or evaluate any artwork artists may be developing, so bring those materials if you would like her to look at them. We will have a song circle following the presentation. So bring your unplugged instruments. Please let me know if you can bring a snack and also if you are bringing guests. We need to know how many chairs to set up. Also I want to let you know that Steve Petersen has volunteered to be our Communications Officer and will be sending you a newsletter and meeting minutes and other communications. So please realize that he is neither a virus nor spam, LOL. Don't forget to RSVP. An e-mail is best. Thanks! Here are the directions to Joey's studio. MEETING DIRECTIONS and TIME: Monday January 19, 2004. 7-9 PM WHERE: Love & Laughter Studios, 1007 E. North St. Anaheim, CA 92869 TIME: 7PM to 9PM. Joey's Office Phone: (562) 946-2022 for questions/directions PRIOR to the meeting. (714) 776-5443 for directions DURING THE MEETING. Pictures speak louder than words so, here is the direct link to the map that shows Joey's Love & Laughter Studio in Anaheim. You can also cut and paste the internet address in if your e-mail program can't link you directly. Use the zoom out box to find the best path from the city in which you live. http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=s.fBnup_0TqwrSCV2n8vBrVpv3FghRiC&csz=An aheim+92869&country=us The studio entrance is really off of La Palma, but you can access the studio from either E. North St. or La Palma. The closest intersection is East St. and La Palma. If you are driving on La Palma and heading east towards East Street, the entrance is just past the railroad tracks, past the Apartments, then turn right into the studio parking area which is set back from the street a little. The studio is before the East St. and La Palma St. intersection. If you are driving on La Palma and heading west towards East Street, go past the intersection and look for the studio on your left. It will be before the apartments and the railroad tracks. The entrance is set back a little from the street. If you miss the La Palma Entrance, (or the parking is filled up,) go around the corner and use the North St. address, the studio is behind the residence there. Just go up the driveway behind the house and you will see the studio building to the left. Please enter quietly so the residents in the front house are not disturbed.
