Wanted: An active Cleveland Chapter that meets at least once a month with members who post mesages and interact on a daily basis. Also, a venue to host a monthly showcase. Available: One Tracy Marie to help!!! Please respond here...

I'm sure Lost in America would love to be a part of the local chapter... The venue might prove a 'sticky wicket'. The Beachland Ballroom hosts a monthly poetry slam... maybe they'd be interested in host the JPFolks Meetings? -Mark http://www.getlostinamerica.com

Thanks for the day after response ;0) Great! The Beachland is a good thought, but we should try to find a more central location that doesn't charge for sound or break thier verbal contracts ;0) Any other thoughts?

Off the top of my head (although not all would be central..)
The Enclave Java Joe's (Parma Hts) Barking Spider? I know they already have 2 open mics... but maybe Martin would go for it?
Anyone else? -Mark

Yes, I did ask Martin and he said no because he has too many regular shows... BTW I love that song, "anything" I want to cover it. We should have a jpfolks showcase where everyone covers another jpfolks member's song... Maybe we should just do that at the Hi-Fi, while we search out a regular place to meet...

Wasn't it at the Hi-Fi originally?

When I hosted open mic, I made it part of that, but then I stopped hosting, so we would have to check and see if we could start something new up. Any other ideas?

Sorry, Tracy. I've been quiet on this topic because I have nothing to offer. But I didn't want you to think I was ignoring these posts or that I was sleeping...zzzzzzz I might be able to offer a church hall in a far West suburb? (Allright, you "beer-o's"...quit laughing!) Not exactly ideal, but it's all I've got...! ------------------ www.mp3.com/crisisrocks www.dianatyler.com

I'm not too concerned about beer. It would be cool to get paid to entertain a crowd, however. Then we could start a JPFolks fund and have a field trip or something.

Why don't we plan to meet one night a month at an existing open mic night just to keep friendly with the kin folk? We have a Sunday Open Mic at The Happydog (a coffeeshop) at 5801 detroit... List your suggestions...

Arabica @ University Circle - every Wedensday Enclave @ Willougby - every Wedensday Chagrin Tavern @ Eastlake - every Tuesday Mudhouse @ Lakewood - every Friday Jammin Java Place @ Parma - every Thursday Hi-fi @ Lakewood - every Monday Riverfront Coffeemill @ Cuyahoga Falls - 1st & 3rd Wednesdays
I know some of the other Arabica's have open mics, but I don't know when those are... I think they are listed in the Folknet Continum, which I have at home. I'll post more later unless someone else has one.

You could call Chris DiSantis at the Gallery Cafe on East 185th Street. Tell him I sent you. 216-481-1366 JT
