Calling all musicians and friends of the music community! I would like to invite you to attend the third monthly meeting of the new Atlanta chapter of Just Plain Folks! We will be meeting on Tuesday, February 19th at 7:30PM at Anthony's Pizza and Music Hall in Decatur. (Directions are at the bottom of this e-mail.) What? You say you've never heard of Just Plain Folks??? Let me tell you a little bit about us: Just Plain Folks is a national organization with chapters all over the country dedicated to the support of the musical community. There's a web site chock full of information about Just Plain Folks at http://www.jpfolks.org. As for those of us starting up this here Atlanta chapter, we're a group of musicians, producers, and others, both professional and nonprofessional, who are intent on making this city a better place in which to be a musician. That means setting up showcases, finding new performance venues, networking, gig-swapping, co-writing, and other cooperative ventures which will help us to grow both as individual musicians and as a community. If this sounds good to you, I hope you'll join us on February 19th! We'll be having an open mike night so bring your insperation!!!
