Hey Ladies and Gents, It feels good to finally sit back and talk about local music without critics jumping down your throat. Thats one of the many things I enjoy about Just Plain Folks. It has come time to hear from everybody in the chapter in there opions to boost to local music scene. Networking is key to success in the music industry as well as finding new ways to find venues and other much needed resources. So I will be doing alot of open mics in the upcoming month and would lvoe if you guys could join. Ill note the locations where I will be at and if you guys feel like jamming come down and let me knwo your comin so I stick around. Any other ideas Im open cause we are all in this together. Maybe we could coordinate something with radio stations like WTMD and Univ. of MD when we have a JPF showcase... also try for a blurb in the Sun's Entertainment section and the City Paper, as well as flyers and internet marketing, and involving local businesses and professional organizations. I think I'm pretty good at writing press releases and advertising so I can help with that once we have a venue and more information.
I see a date of May 10 for Baltimore in one of Brian's recent chapter posts. That's coming upon us here pretty soon, and has me very curious about recent developments for Baltimore JPF.
What venues would you suggest having this at, or is that pre-determined by the JPF gurus?
