Hi Alvis, I am getting a lot of positive feedback from many individuals in reference to our first meeting on Feb. 9th. Also many people know Johnny G. L-Y-O-N( ) and his club. I was there on wed. and they had jam night, it was a blast, awsome musicians in the Tampa area. I believe the jam night is moving to tuesday nights. (Call A.J.s Alehouse to confirm). Talk to you soon... Mikey

Al, Are you planning to showcase and if so whats your instrument of choice? I guess it depends. Vocals are my ability. New Style Country...was going to learn guitar but my son decided he was going to first ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Its all a money thing you know... Fill me in on where your at in your music and where you want to be. Al Trying to find a band or someone looking to get things kicked in gear. Found some pretty cool people on the board. I guess I'll just show up listen have a good time and hope I can meet someone with similar tastes, if not I'll kick back a few and just have a good time. I would prefer a duo/trio/group deal but I can hold my own as a soloist. So to answer the question..where I'm at.. Nowhere...where do I want to be... On Stage ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) ------------------ peace

DawGe, Every song needs a singer and alot of us who do play are not really confident about our vocal abilities. I think you will find this meeting very beneficial as far as a way to meet others who may be looking or know someone else who may need a good vocalist.Go to www.floridamusicrow.com They are geared toward support of the local live Country entertainer and can as well be a great source of contacts. We look forward to your continued interaction on the boards and to meeting you Feb. 9th. Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't kept up with all the latest news on the board. I've been busy with a new job and getting myself ready for an upcoming gig. I have been telling everyone that I know, about the JPF Kickoff meeting and I'm excited about meeting everyone! I would like to know how someone that is interested in showcasing can arrange it? I've just tonight had the wonderful pleasure of hearing a duo songwriting team called North 2 South. They came out to the club where my husband's band <Rollin' River> is playing and got up and did some of their originals and it was awesome! I was telling Frank & Cindy <North 2 South> about the kickoff meeting and they're really interested and would like to possibly showcase so I told them I'd get the details for them...also, I'm sending them the link to the JPF site as well. Hey Al, I'm glad you hooked up with Richard Garland of TampaBay Entertainment Guide. I told you he was a good contact and a hell of a nice guy too! Please let me know how to arrange the showcase stuff ok? Thanks & see ya there! Michelle Ridgewood FLORIDA MUSIC ROW http://www.floridamusicrow.com

Hey Al, Thanks for getting this whole thing started. My friend Michelle Ridgewood, who runs the FloridaMusicRow website referred me to your site and I registered today. My husband and I have an all-original country/rock duo called North 2 South. ( http://north2southonline.com) I wanted to let you know we will definitely be there to lend our support to the group. Thank you for putting this together and we'll see you then. Best, Cindy

Cindy,Sammy and DawGe, After a much needed vacation Im back and ready to light the fuse. I was so glad to see the new posts upon checking out our chapter page today and look forward to meeting all of you on the 9th.I have also added the press release info at the top of this post with all details of our kickoff meeting.Everyone is welcome to showcase regardless of experience, all we ask is when your up, your practiced and tuned and enthusiastic about what your doing. This is a chance for us not only to appreciate the polished songwriter/musician but also help to nurture those who wish growth through experience.I along with my musical cohort Mike Miulli and fellow Folk Tampa Stan Good have been doing alot of networking and expect to see not only musician/songwriters but also people in the industry from Studio Engineers to Music Tutors and Advertisers. We will also be looking for ideas to help lay a foundation as to the direction this new chapter will take so put on your thinking caps and be ready to share. Keep Strummin' Al

Michelle, Good to see your post and thanks for the continued support. As far as Showcasing is concerned its going to be a matter of we'll talk about that as an issue at the meeting and let us as a group figure out a system thats best fit for our group.Lohnny G Lyon, our host is supplying the venue and stage with a killer P.A. and lights. Im bringing my Peavy 212 guitar amp (has reverb but no additional effects)its great for acoustic acts.Ive also got 2 Shure SM 58 Mics with stands and cords of course and a bunch of hand held percussion gear if anyone wants some accompaniment.Eventually Id love to have full bands showcase and back up individual acts but thats some thing that takes alot of cooperation and will need to be worked out amongst the group so for now at the first meeting Singles,duos,jams...... Keep in mind that although Ive been playing for some time and have original material Ive only performed among groups of friends and at parties so Im looking to learn loads from the more experienced people in our chapter. I hope that the atmosphere that we create will be fullfilling for our proffessional performers as well as some of us novices. All those who do wish to showcase should bring their instrument and if they wish their own amp, mic whatever is most comfortable for them, keeping in mind we may have alot of folks playing and we'll have to keep set up time to a minimum.I could ramble all day, just know it will be fun cuz if its not theres no sense in doing it.Were all in this togeather! Keep Strummin',Al
