It seems that many club owners and other folks looking for performers come to downtown Roanoke to find them - specifically, the regular Thursday Open Mic at the Green Dolphin Grille - voted Roanoke's best open mic by the readers of City Magazine. I'm Bill Payne, and I co-host this weekly event with the Swiss Army Musician, Al Coffey. If you live nearby, or if you're passing through on a Thursday, you owe it to yourself to come and participate. We'll make a spot for you. The Dolphin is at 127 Campbell Ave,. near the city market. Open MIc is 9-1. We have solo slots and Nashville-style rounds, and singer/songwriters get listened to here. Several JPFers are regulars. Come join us!

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
