Hi folks,
We haven't heard from any Chicago folks.. and these boards are still very quiet..
Do we need these message boards?

Hi Brian Just saying hello. Yes, the boards here seem very quiet (smile). Chicago's a bit far for me, the farthest my matchbox car may go is Wis. Dells, (lol). It would be great to get something close in the Wis area. Just babbling here, but in Wis Dells is the Crystal Grand theatre, which many performers are. And about 5 years ago, I had the opportunity to see Ronnie Milsap in Baraboo. He put on a great show. If something does ever come about in the area, that would be great! Take care and keep up the great everything you are doing Brian. God bless, Marilyn http://www.mp3.com/MarilynOakley [This message has been edited by Nightwolf (edited 02-21-2002).]

Brian, I think these boards are a good thing. I live and work here in lovely Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and would be interested in coordinating a chapter here if there is any interest from local songwriters.

Chris,
In smaller towns like Cedar Rapids, it takes an outgoing coordinator who is willing to build it up over a long period of time. Wayne did that in St. Paul, MN and has built one of the longest running chapters to date.
Let me know if you want to give it a shot!

It sure would be nice to have something close to Cincinnati or Northern KY. Everything is a couple of hours away from me.

Brian, I'm in Columbus, OH now (originally from Chicago). I just started coming to the boards last week. I think they can be very valuble! I'd consider having only regional boards (rather than city specific) - it would create a larger user base in each forum. Besides, I think we should all get to know each other on a regional basis. It's great for gig swapping and such. I'm plotting out a regional weekend tour right now...anyone in the following cities interested in gig swapping or with venue ideas for the following cities let me know: Chicago Indianapolis Dayton Toledo Cleveland Cincinnati Pittsburgh Charleston Lexington Columbus I'm a solo acoustic singer-songwriter. Occasionally my violin player from Chicago will drive in for a gig. Email me directly with info or if you're intersted: jeffmusic@pobox.com You can checkout my website for more info. There's a link there to mp3.com to check out tunes: http://www.jeffinthebox.com Thanks! ------------------ Jeffrey Altergott [This message has been edited by jaltergott (edited 05-13-2002).] [This message has been edited by jaltergott (edited 05-13-2002).]

I just found out about these boards, and read the post from the Cedar Rapids person. Are you still out there? Anyone else from Iowa? We're in Eastern Iowa, near Cedar Rapids and are always looking to "network" with others in the area/state/region. So, please feel free to drop me a line...
