FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: DASSBEAT MUSIC LAUNCHES INTERNET RADIO STATION: “RADIO FREE DAKOTA” Hot Springs, SD September 25,2003 CONTACT: Redge Dass dassbeat@yahoo.com 605-745-4997 Dassbeat Music, LLC, a South Dakota live concert producer, is launching an independent Internet based radio station: www.radiofreedakota.com “As corporate radio become less creative, play lists get tighter and there are fewer places for a music lover to find suitable music on the broadcast dial,” says Redge Dass, the creative force behind Radio Free Dakota. “Public radio tries hard, but has programming limitations.” “The broadcast band has become unimaginative and vanilla,” he continues. “Songs are selected by music consultants that sit in corporate offices in New York, Atlanta, and L.A. These very narrow play lists are sold to every station from Miami to Seattle…so no matter where you go, you hear the same 20 to 30 songs over and over.” According to Dass, this makes wide exposure and air play almost impossible for independent and non-main stream artists. “Radio Free Dakota is a home for fans of Independent Rock, Folk, Punk, Bluegrass…all the great tunes you can’t hear on corporate radio. Of course, we will program well known artists if they fit our format.” Expect to hear The Ataris, Nirvana, The Clash, Ani Difranco, and some great national acoustic acts like Patty Larkin, Shawn Mullins and Howie Day as well as Dakota favorites like Hank Harris, Jalan Crossland and Norman Liota. “We have something for everyone, from high school kids seeking alternative rock to old hippies looking for mellow jams. The station’s catch phrase is ‘Nothing corporate about it.’” Dass is encouraging independent musicians to submit CD’s for inclusion on Radio Free Dakota. Beginning in November, Radio Free Dakota will include a weekly program that features entire CD’s by local musicians. “Due to some wonderful technology, the Internet now provides a viable alternative to broadcast radio,” Dass adds. “Over 532 million hits to Live365’s server prove that.” Hosted on Live365, Radio Free Dakota is compatible with RealPlayer, Windows, Mac and most computer audio platforms. There is a free registration that gives the listener access to the server and provides a downloadable audio player. The website and station are presently in a “beta”, or testing mode, and will launch officially in mid November 2003. Go to www.radiofreedakota.com for a free sample. ### ------------------ Dassbeat Music Radio Free Dakota 102 North 6th Street Hot Springs, SD 57747 605-745-4997 dassbeat@yahoo.com www.radiofreedakota.com
