Hi & Happy Eggs-this isn't new-I have lots of new stuff-just takin' a break-Humpty Dumpty etc... MR INVINCIBLE This tune is from a high-energy power trio CD I made in 95-: MANNA. The bass player/producer Matthew Gerard is huge in L.A. now-producing/writing for Kelly Clarkson-alot of young pop/rock stuff etc. We did something together a few years back but I'm not really in touch now. Check out the "bass solo" at the end!!! More importantly however I wanted to let y'all know the 13 songs from my next CD are available for free download at my website. I'd really appreciate it if ya DL'd & spread 'em on the web'!I'm not sold on the 99 cent MP3 download biz-MP3 quality is bad-but good promo[I suppose!]. 3 songs are covers just for fun-some of you may recognize them! Thanks John Findlay ------------------ johnfindlaymusic.com [This message has been edited by johnfindlay (edited 04-16-2006).]

John--Excellent...........11 years later you still got it going on. That is a very cool track. My new name for you--Mr. Convincable ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) You convinced me that you are one talented "dude". ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) That happened long ago. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) You are your own "Manna" now. I still here that influence in today's music from you. I really do think today's "Manna" aka John F. is even better, and it's all you. WOW! John, you have inspired me in more ways than you know. With your suggestions and support of my music. I thank you again for that. Thanks for sharing your "great" music. Happy Holiday. Bob

Hey John--The truth is the truth.IMHO. No need to blush. I meant every word of it. I know other people feel the same way I do. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) I was thinkin' Kelly Clarkson had a song called Miss Independent, I was thinkin' your old "buddy" may have had somethin' to do with that. Take care. T-Bob

This is probably the best overall music I have heard posted on this forum- just from the point of view of technical mastery, arrangement and production. I very much enjoyed listening to your cover of "sunhine of my love". What are you doing today? Tell us about the musicians on these songs- are they still with you? This forum is mostly about works under construction so the more appropriate post would be works you are doing today. 11 years I was in a working band doing all covers. Today, I belong to a songwriter's association (FWSA.com) and love the energy and creativity of all the members. I wouldn't post songs we recorded back then on this forum but I will confess, except for a rare night of "togetherness' we were never as tight as the songs you posted.

Extremely tight - unexpected changes out of left field without any notice!
On the edge of yer seat suspense!
You guys are Scary Monsters!
I appreciate the magnitude of work that went into this, not to mention the rest of the Manna CD.
Thanks for leaving it with me John!

Great tune, John. Loved those guitar leads. And that bass lead too! Can never find any flaws in your stuff - my ears just ain't good enough.
Listened to "Sunshine of your love" too. How could I resist? Nice work on that one too. Hard to put your own imprint on a cover and still have people like it. You managed.

Hi John,
This was fantastic I really enjoyed it..Everyone played great and it sounded excellent. Very very LA sounding.. I'm a big fan of this style. Touches of one of my favorites Lee Ritenour "The Rit" album..
Your guitar was fabulous as always and the bass was monster... everything was terrific..
Thanks for posting up and sharing the 13 songs..
Peace Sub

Whoa - what a super production. It's all been said already but I will say it again: great muscianship and vocals, couldn't be better. Did you guys ever try to promote this? ------------------ Clint http://www.soundclick.com/clintanglin

Hi John, This reminds me of the first time I heard Boston. I couln't imagine how they created that sound. Same with this song. Tight is an understatement. Tom

Hi Accel--how are ya--that one was too heavy for most of my friends--ashes to ashes-major Toms a junkie! substudio--the L.A. sound -that's Matthews production to a degree-neat & spiffy & 80ish- he's the complete opposite to me Im a musical junk shop & he's the Man From Glad. clint751-somefellow--I wish I had the luxury of working with a producer these daze...my new stuff would be all the better--we only gigged a bit with that line-up-mainly I was too buzy trying to make a living!!! Maybe it will be come a a cult-classic!? BTW-a buddy just told me he'd put me in touch with some fellows by the name of Gary Novak[drums] & Jimmy Earl[bass]-so I better start savin' my pennies! SUB-I think Novak does/did play with Ritenour. JF ------------------ johnfindlaymusic.com

Hi John, Yes he's literally in LA... I have about six or seven Rit albums I'll look for him.. I met Rit and told him where it's at (big lol) I said get Eric Tagg on vocals and get back to great vocal songs.. mixed with tasty instrumentals.. Rit album.. "Banded Together" etc..The classical guitar instrumentals he bombarded us stopped bve from buying any more CD's or goig to see him live.. Liked it better when he mixed it up.. He looked at me like i was nuts.. but who sounds dated now ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Great descriptions! Great stuff, man. Love it. I too, was in a band doing Mr Briefcase back in the day... ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Rit is a great album. If you like that stuff (I've got quite a collection) check out (if you haven't already) Ricky Peterson's Night Watch CD. Amazing. He does a couple of covers of my favorite 'rock-pop" band Pages... - Jay ------------------ www.jaybritton.com

Hey Jay!--I just went to Ricky's site-I know every name-every change & sound! Sorry to see Don Alias pass-so many albums. Being from the studio/session side over the years we were always hip to Lee.We always had the charts as soon as the records were released. We used em-/played- for gigs/ TV stings etc. thanks alot. ------------------ johnfindlaymusic.com-nwe CD:FAIRPLAY--: available for free download

Hi John & Jay.. Yea that is Eric Tagg.. on Briefcase That's what was talking to Lee briefly about, having nice quality songs that are also have commercial appeal.. You know guys like that are always looking to grow move on and improve.. Thta's how he got so good in the first place.. I'm a big fan of that stuff.. I've seen everyone I wanted to see pretty much.. Even saw "Return To Forvever" and Jaco twice.. Larry C, Benson 4 times.. Metheney, Dixie Dreggs, Weather Report, Spyra, Beck, Passion Grace & Fire, and more.... Then I just kinda got out of it.. I'll still listen now and then of course.. But I just felt the pull back to popular songs and back to the styles that got me into music in the first place.. That stuff can get to after a while ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) peace Sub

John & Sub. I'm with you Sub. As I got older I kinda drifted back to my roots. A more raw, country-flavored pop thing. I never really developed the chops to play that stuff, but love to listen. I saw every one of the bands you listed live!! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Actually Spyro Gyra's bass player, Scott Ambush, is a good friend of mine. He plays on 4 songs on my new album which will be released in May. Thanks for the flashback guys!!! - Jay ------------------ www.jaybritton.com
