David Seriously great stuff! I loved it. If Nelson Riddle and or a Sinatra impersonator knew about this you'd be swamped. The song is crying out for a good production so if you are deadly serious about getting it noticed look at the mix. In my download I observed; - The voice is far too loud for the instruments - Drop the volume of the cymbals patterns and vary the pattern a little bit - Bring up the snare 'bombs' and steadily raise the mix at the end of the verse going into the chorus - After ..shadow of the night (2nd time) I waited for the orchestra and it wasn't there. Then I listened a second time and found the orchestral sound 'deep' in the mix - I could hardly hear it. BRING IT UP its superb. (I can't believe you wouldn't know this so it may be my download - let me know if its a tech problem)
Marvelous arrangement . There MUST be a live crooner type act who could give this some air. No question that you have a talent for this stuff. You may believe in it enough to be the first one to take advantage of a stale popular music condition and give some alternative style to the masses
Well done mate Tone

Sha-zamm, TONE!!! Thanks! I am actively seeking a home for this stuff. I may beg and bribe Bob Young to do the project, but the Jersey Lottery is only up to 7 million dollars, at this writing. I'll give it a week...then telegram Bob in Chicago. Who knows.....? The entire collection is available at: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/southsidepauliethebombedbaysaphires_music.htm I will send you, or anyone, FREE, for the asking, a CD of all ten songs. The CD mix is WAY better than the crap on the MP3's. In any case, thank you for your input and comments. As far as the mix, its all I can get out of what I got. Yo Cook! That was "Just Plain COOL"! First off, this has some really cool traditional style jazz grooves, along the lines of retro "Mack The Knife" sung by Sinatra or any of his old (or new) friends! Since this song plays over 4 1/2 minutes, there'd be room for another verse or two to develop the story a little. Other than that, it's a very nice demo, or should I say "final cut"? All the best from, Michael P.S. Remember this one? "I like the north, I like the south, I like the east and west but BEST, I like being here with you"! I think the NIU Jazz band still does that one. ------------------ Not perfect... just forgiven! [This message has been edited by Michael Borges (edited 10-18-2002).]
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself. -- Johann Sebastian Bach MichaelBorges.comLicenseQuote.com

Paul I need your (and others) help. As you know I am relatively new to all this and have just completed a song which seems to be my direction. Could you please listen to it "Breakdown(She's Cruel)" and let me know your honest opinion (which value) and what Genre you think it should be called? (I'm hopeless at pigeonholes!) http://homepage.mac.com/thanley/Music/FileSharing3.html Password < guitar > Thanks alot Tony [BTW; Since listening to your music I have found some of the Jazz drum loops in my Korg quite interesting and might have a go at something similar to your songs]

Cook I have raging storm going on over my roof. If I get frizzled I just want you know I could not go a better way. That man Tune sure knows how to do a crit LOL Ball vibrating music. (For those who think I am being crude, I refer to my rubber stress Balls that sit on my speakers) That has got to one of the best outs on a track I have ever heard. Thanks, All, for the listen and the comments.
TONE: ALL 3 songs on your page are fabulous! Love that KOO-KOO feel, man! "Breakdown", in my opinion, could use more of a rythem guitar in the verses.
Michael: As far as farther story development.. I purposely wrote the song to HIGHLIGHT ambiguity, not really focusing on any one subject or situation. The whole point of focus in the song is, "Heaven hates a loser without a plan."
GERRY: I'm happy in the knowledge that I sent your balls a-vibratin'!!! Its my one true goal in life! Thanks!
