Thanks for getting the ball rolling Noel. We have about 1-1.5% Austrailians in our membership, (i.e. about 300 people) so I know folks are out there. Hopefully we can get some of them to come forward so we can finally make a visit there and to New Zealand to visit!

Well .. this is me .. I live in WA. I played in Bands in the UK for many years and after migration to Australia sort of fell out of the gig scene. My wife purchased som multitracking software about 4 years ago and well .. thats it. hooked. I spend most of my time constructing tunes and inviting people to collaborate. I have been very lucky to have collaborated with Wirdaz on a number of occasions, also several other people here, and have recently collaborated with some professional musicans from USA and France. I post my own music collaborations on www.mp3.com.au/johnniemorris I use www.artistcollaboration.com as a vehicle for collaboration. Like here, the place is warm and friendly and there are many fantastic and talented people there at all levels of the "sport". Here is a link to a well produced cover I was involved in recently the involved some top class professional artists. For me a great Buzz! http://www.artistcollaboration.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1154

Hi guys!.....I guess this is officially my '1st' posting and being I was invited to share as an Aussie lass....I shall! Born and Raised Australian I reside on the beautiful Gold Coast of Queensland on the East coast! ( last Brunette I think ) LOL.... I write/compose all of my own works and like to agree with Noel there, that my songs can lend themselves to many genre's...depending on production. I write mostly Adult Contemporary/Folk/Easy Listening and just adore a story line in most music I listen too, so that also follows through to my works. I play acoustic guitar and have recently taken up keys!....When I am not writing/recording my genre I love to engineer and produce digital/electronic Dance traks.......Its extremely different in direction and flow and I love that Ying & Yang!....( It's truely amazing what you can achieve these days on your home computer!) I have always written in some form or another since I was a child poems/short stories ect, though ignored young visions and dreams to persue a 'reliable income'...( don't you just love that?! lol) as a Hairdresser....( let me tell ya, hair in ur bra is not comfortable!!) lol.... At age 31 I decided to change my stars and live my dream, fulltime..... so believe myself to be just a 'baby' in the scheme of things....and don't lend negative energy to the 'too old to start now' attitude. I bought a Gibson Acoustic and I would visit TAB sites and pick out artists I loved the music of and print off the music and chords then I sat online at bookmarked Guitar lesson websites and taught myself to play those chords, So it made it really interesting to me, as being I was learning individual chords, at the end of those 4-5-6 chords was a SONG! and a great reward instead of just scales.... After about 10 songs of 'others' I decided I had enough to start doing my own...and from there it just grew like an addiction, though a healthy one that gave new meaning to my life.....and I still feel that way. I feel having my Independant Album on my site a great achievement and last year flew to Bali for my first Video, as well as having many more originals, I am currently working on having produced and actively persuing Publishing Avenues..... (Songwriting is a Source) Because of Music I have met so many amazing people and am forever grateful I listened to my heart..... I never measure success by $$$ or Headlines and personally think some of the most greatest success's go unoticed within the music industry and life in general for that matter....and in saying that feel I have achieved much! One of my favourite sayings.....'Those that try....Succeed'! I have a website that I use pretty much as a diary to my life in music @ www.kitana.info Thanks for this great topic Noel....Aussie Aussie Aussie....( You know the rest!):-) Peace & Love Kitana

I'm a little Aussie. Sons are what I'm about. So guess this the place. For me to hang out. Sorry Kitana. I saw your reply in General, and couldn't help going into the I'm a little teapot routine. Old parody writers never die. Folks just wish they would. Don't get i here much these days as life and songramp are keeping me busy, but wil be good to see the down under chapter thing breathe some. Know you have been a supporter of it for a long time now Noel. Toward the ask on where we are from, at and going. I am an ex Melbourne bloke. Came to Esperance West Aussie in 1967 to farm, after working in the bush in Victoria for a few years.. I write for fun. First as a poet, then went into prose, then worked as a freelance journalist and sub editor in rural papers and magazines. Started turning my poems and short storiess into lyrics around 1996 and then began aading music. Haven't written a poem since as they start singing to me and away we go. I do litle else now other than write songs and find indie stuff for my little radio show. And go to the pub of course. Thanks very Much Noel....I have SO many songs and currently working on getting a few more to recorded standard to post there.
Been an absolute scorcher of a week here on the gold coast, with high temps in the nights, lending me to sit more often then not reading the site, due to not being able to sleep.......'Bring on WINTER!'
Any of you Aussies hit Tamworth this year? Peace and Love Kitana

Called 'The Song First'..run by the Tamworth Song Association and although it sounds the same as the Telstra one.....is less popular at this point! which of course means more chances for people without connections and more about the product!..... you can read up on it for next year on the link above...... Ok time to get the day started...have a good one Kit ------------------ Those that try....Succeed!

HI Noel.. Thanks for ur message on Support Friends...I am really glad another Aussie has joined....thanks! As I mentioned it is in its new stages and not near as much is going on in there as here, but there are many great, different things on the horizon for it and naturally the concept is totally different to JPfolks. It's more like a networking Support site as appose to an actual 'chat' site or board, right now. So many very successful artist's listed with it so far and really great opportunitys for writers/artists in the future. Its not just music either covering other topics like Good Health and wealth as well....Blogs and things like that to tell ur storys ect and another good page to be linked to for your craft! The profile page for each person is EXCELLENT and you can put so much info on it, allowing others to e-mail or message you. Did you check out the Arts & Music Page? http://supportfriends.com/cgi-bin/globaltemplate.cgi?id=10 Great Read and tells you heaps of info on the Founder! Your a champion for joining and thanks....I am sure if you stick with it in time you will benifit allot from it. ------------------ Those that try....Succeed!

Hi there folks. Forget the nickname. I'm 100% Aussie. The name was given to me by some wanker type "Producer" because it's what he thought my music sounded like (and because he thought it would be better for me if I wanted to push myself into the U.S. It stuck and kinda grown on me now so I kept it. I'm in Melbourne (after migrating from country Victoria. I've written over 350 songs (mainly recorded on cheap cassette with just a Bass and Vocals, But have about 40 pro recordings. Witch Docter: I heard ya cuts on soundclick and recon'they are excellent. Great for the country scene of Aus. I'm on that site as well but not sure if the style would impress you (not very countryish). I'm glad to be on an Aussie site forum.
