Greetings, I am a singer/songwriter who will be moving to the Lafayette,Indiana area in early summer 2004 to join forces with my cousins up and coming country band. Here in the Northeast I am a member of the Northeast Country Music Association, and was curious if the Indy/Indiana region had a comparable body of organized country music performers and writers. I would love to lay the ground work of getting to know them before my arrival. Any information anyone has as to this type of organization in Indiana would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks! i'm not an association kind-a-guy myself, so i don't really know much. but i'm pretty sure the NSA does stuff like that. ALSO a group of local multi-genre writer's called the Indianapolis Songwriter's Association meets once per month. they aren't strictly country, but they have a pretty heavy country representation (this IS still Indiana, after all). ALSO my informal songwriter's group meets every second tuesday of the month here in Indy. many of the regular attendees do country music - so it might be a good place to try. <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by luketannerjr: Greetings, I am a singer/songwriter who will be moving to the Lafayette,Indiana area in early summer 2004 to join forces with my cousins up and coming country band. Thanks Kit. I really appreciate the heads up. I'll give a shout to these groups as my moving date draws nearer. I really appreciate the response. Cheers. LT
