Hi everyone....we'd really like to get the Indianapolis chapter active. I spent this evening at the CATH, Inc in Broad Ripple supporting one of our members from LA! John M and his partner Gina Venturini made a stop on their way back to LA during their whirlwind tour. A big thanks goes out to Nora at CATH for her support of JPF members as well as Independent music. Another LA member, Seth Horan, will be in town Oct 12 at Utopia and Oct 13 at CATH. Let's get a nice crowd out to show our support! Linda

Maybe we could set up a JPF writers night at a local venue once a month? I went to the showcase this year I liked that format.
I know there are a few places in the Indy area that have open mic night, so maybe this wouldn't be a very useful thing. I just thought I throw the idea out there...

Wow...there is life here in Indy ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Andy are you volunteering to help coordinate? I'd love to see the Indy folks get more involved...especially since we live here. We can try something...if it doesn't work, we change it or try something new! Come on Indy Folks....Let's get involved! I would be willing to help. It might be kind of boring if it is just the two of us, though!

I would be willing to help also. I am not comfortable with having to...(bare)... no... (bear)..no i mean carry all the responsability. In other words if I could work with someone so if I have a show on occaision there would be a reliable back up, I'd be keen to give it a go. Right now Arminta and I are running an open mic at Utopia (which this wed is our night)once per month. I could very easily turn it into a JP folks singer songwriter all origional night if there was enough support.
email me if you'd like to make it happen.

That's great....3 of us...one of which is not a songwriter!
I will get with Brian and see if he has a mailing list for the Indianapolis area. The JPF original night sounds great if we can get the support. Andy.. is that what you had in mind? Perhaps as a start at least. Some of the other things some of the chapters are doing include having meetings with local industry speakers, going to schools or nursing homes to perform, etc....any other ideas would be welcome!
I'd love to see some increase in the participation here in town!
Thanks for your interest Andy and Mike!

Hi Jerry
I'm not from that area. I'm actually from Indianapolis.
But I will be in Louisville next week for the IBMA show from 10/14-17/02.
Are there any good places for a duet to play near Salem?
Peace
Mike

I'd love to get involved. I'm a singer/songwriter from the Indy area, although I relocated to NYC for several years to work on my career. I will be moving back in December and touring the US in 2003. I'll be in and out of Indy, though, and am looking forward to meeting other musicians and becoming more involved in the Indy scene. Thanks! Jessica ------------------ http://www.jessicaweiser.com
