Greetings all!

Just want to inform you about event plans for the remainder of 2001 so nothing surprises you. Many musicians work harder in the Holiday season than at any other time of the year; others take that time off to enjoy the Holidays with their families. Here's what's going on with Just Plain Folks, Twin Cities:

October song circle at Borealis Caffe, 8 pm Oct. 30
Benefit planning meeting 8:45 pm at Borealis (downstairs).

November showcase at Jitters, 8 pm Nov. 12
(Emceed by the energetic Ms Katy Tessman)
November song circle at Borealis, 8 pm Nov. 27
(Thanksgiving is on Thursday, Nov. 22)

December showcase at Jitters, 8 pm Dec. 10
NO DECEMBER SONG CIRCLE!
(The last Tuesday of December is Christmas Day!)

Our venues coordinator, Tom Thull, will verify that the venues are still expecting us on those dates. If there are unexpected changes, we will notify you immediately.

Our showcase coordinator, David Werhane, is accepting reservations from performers at this time for the remaining two showcases of the year. He can be contacted at
bigconcerts@hotmail.com
Send him an e-mail and reserve your slot today!

Unfortunately, we did not have a benefit performance this year. Several players have indicated their interest in performing at a benefit for FDNY:
Geoff S.
Amy & Adams
Ray B.
Vicki J.
Tom T.
Tim G.
David Werhane
Wayne Hamilton

Now that Mark Adams has stepped forward to perform coordination duties for (take charge of) this event and planning is under way, we're looking good. Tom Thull will assist in acquiring a venue & date. David Werhane will ensure that a sound system is available at the venue. Ray Yates will do his usual excellent job of preparing and running the sound board. I will assist with advertising this event and help strategize on collecting funds (something we don't usually do) for the benefit. YOU ARE NOT ALONE when you volunteer for a responsible position/event with JPF!!

No firm date has been set for this event, but we are actively working on it!

As chapter coordinator, I want to encourage you to also register your e-address on the local Just Plain Folks site e-mail list at www.waynehamilton.com.
Just click the subscribe link on the home page, select Just Plain Folks from the options list, type in your e-address, click SUBMIT and you're done!

Our JPF annual membership drive is now going on, and it would be great to have everyone who has shared his/her music with fellow members and audiences in the Twin Cities be an official part of this growing organization. We're all in this together, and we're stronger together than we are as individuals. Please join today!

Looking forward to seeing you and sharing more music with you!

Regards,
Wayne Hamilton
