Song Contest: The deadline to pre-submit your songs for the NewSong Performing Songwriters Contest is (postmarked by) July 1, but anyone may reserve a slot in the festival's Open Round until all slots are filled, which won't be long. 20 semifinalists will be drawn from the Pre-submission Round, 20 from the Open Round. Open Round reservations begin on the website on 7/1. Tickets for the festival also go on sale then. Lineup: As of 6/30, the following artists are confirmed. Some artists will be also offering workshops. Kathy Mattea, Darrell Scott, Tim O'Brien, Paul Reisler, Corey Harris, Jessie Harris (Norah Jones' song "Don't Know Why"), Last Train Home, Johnsmith, Vance Gilbert. www.newsongfestival.com ------------------ Gary@NewSong
