Hey all! Would it be in poor taste if the MUSIC link on my webpage redirected to my music page on Soundclick? I wouldn't mind posting the songs on my site but I have no idea how I would do that so they could be streamed with ease. ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/veryvince/

I personally don't see an issue with it and I do link to my music on Digital Music from my personal site. I don't deep link to the music files on Digital Music though, I link to my full page on Digital Music. That way I'm giving folks a chance to see where and what host I'm using for that. A couple of things often happen that way. One, as above the the visitors see who the host is and usually will look around and that leads to the second thing that often happens. Those folks look around and listen to other music on the site. ------------------ DakLander Oh, there are some other's websites that link to some of my music on other hosts, Song Ramp, IUMA & etc. I don't know if any of them do a deep link but all the links I place go to my artist page on the host. Assuming the site you point the link to allows it to work. There are ways of blocking links to embedded images and sounds.
To make an mp3 file stream from a web server only requires the addition of a short text file with file extension "m3u", containing the complete URL to the mp3 file. (That is, starting with "http://" and the full site name and path to the file.) Then in your HTML you link to the m3u file instead of the mp3 file.

I do the same thing, except to SongRamp. You probably want to be sure to open a new window to the linked page so that when the person browsing is finished, they still have your website appearing in a window on their computer. ------------------ Stone Marmot www.stonemarmot.com Stone Marmot on SongRamp Alternative pop-rock music: Definitely rock, somewhat pop, but a bit more experimental.
