Hi Everybody Well, I'm a new member here and this is my first posting...I'm really happy to have found this place, and though I've spent some time looking around, there is a LOT to cover! I just wanted to say that I would appreciate if you would give a listen to my stuff at: www.soundclick.com/seanmalcolm I would also appreciate feedback! Here is my question...I only put my songs up on Sunday evening (feb 5/06). When I went to check it out on Monday afternoon, I found that one song reached #966 out of over 24,000 songs on the soundclick charts! In less than 24 hours! I just wanted to ask any soundclick veterans here if that is pretty good, or is that standard? I know I was pleased, but I would like to hear from you guys. All the best, and hope to talk more soon. Sean

Hi Joanne
Thanks for the quick response. Nice to meet you. I will do that very thing, and post in the mp3 forum.
Best, Sean

soundclick is a pretty cool way to get your songs heard BUT, you still need to have a plan in place to get people to visit the site and to get your rating up. The more hits you get, the more people listen resulting in more downloads...that's what gets your rating higher. It's a strategy of sorts. I post my songs as many places as I can to inform my listeners/supporters where they can hear my songs. Examples: workplace, family and friends via email, forums that I belong to and whatever else you have as part of your PR. With that however, you'll get some comments and response that aren't so sweet and appearing to be an attack on your talent, credibility and anything else that fits into a "negative" category...be prepared! That is only the beginning of the benefits you get from using programs such as Soundclick. My personal agenda is to keep my LISTENERS informed as to my progress so that they attend my performances, request my songs on the radio and purchase my cd's...a novel idea! As for the music industry jumping out at us and needing us....for me it's not likely and that's okay..I get my satisfaction from knowing there are people out there who DO value my songs and can relate to them in their individual way. Best Wishes! Linda A. ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/lindaanthony you think you can or you think you can't; you are right"
