The Breaking the Sound Barriers Contest!

In a controversial move, the NARAS
classical committee just took a CD that
was entered in this year's Grammys in
the Classical Crossover category and
moved it into the Pop Vocal category!
The CD was rock cellist Von Cello's CD,
"Breaking The Sound Barriers." Von
Cello intentionally created a CD that
would break the traditional barriers
between classical music and rock. It was
therefore entered under Classical
Crossover, but the classical committee
said no!

What do you think? Is "Breaking The Sound Barriers" a Classical Crossover album or a Vocal Pop album? MusicDish is sponsoring
a contest based on this question. Here are the details:

Listen to the CD and send your comments as well as a vote on whether or not you feel the CD is a Classical Crossover or Pop Vocal CD to voncello@musicdish.com. Von Cello and the editorial staff of MusicDish will then pick their favorite five comments and the writers will receive prizes. Comments will be judged on wit, insight, humor and creativity. Comments will be accepted until January 31st.
