Hi Ande,
We met on the NS website. And, I even wanted to use one of your songs for Colgate Country Showdown, but it didn't work out-didn't get to the finals. Just got invited to 3 of the local competitions. If you have something you want to work together on, I wouldn't mind trying. But, I have to say, I would have to work with my lead guitarist as well. So, if you want me, you would get two. Also, if you need someone to demo for you. I'd be happy to.
Thanks,
Monica

Hey Ande,
Good to see you're still plugging away. I think I answered this post about 6 months ago, but I'll take a second shot.
Since then, I've worked with 2 lyricists here, one song still in progress. I didn't get it when I replied then. I think i'm starting to get it now.
The lyricists have hepled heaps in taking a couple of lines of what i had, and even one number that was almost finished, and added the polish that was required. I'd never worked from a lyric point of view before, and it was refreshing to see a song from a different angle.
I'm learning to collaborate ( big step ) but I think it's working out well. Am busy with a couple of numbers at the moment, but would like to check out some of your lyrics. Do you have one link where they're all there? Just drop A PM. It sure is more reliable than email.
cheers, niteshift

Wow Ande, You've kept this ad alive quite a while. Guess you can't beat the price. At any rate it seems to be getting some results and shows that persistence pays. A good example you are.
I'm not a paying customer here since I just write lyrics. I just wanted to point out a distinction. You replied to someone earlier that you tend NOT to copyright a song until it is ready to be cut. I know what you mean BUT it is important to recognize you can claim a copyright on anything you write merely by making the claim © ... What you're probably referring to is registering your copyright with the patent office. As I understand it that can be a good thing once you're in court because it is generally accepted. Someone else could take what you've written and register it with the patent office under their name and you'd find yourself in court debating forms of proof(of ownership).
You seem to be pretty sharp on the business end so I'll ask you if that's correct.
Thanks, John

yes I have kept it alive a while I bump it every now and then novice writers are so paranoid that some one is going to steal their lyrics or steal their idea 99.9% of the time they aren't worth a writer has a copyright on a song 1) if it is actually an original work and 2) if they put it in tangible form write it down or record it ande Wow Ande, You've kept this ad alive quite a while. hi niteshift, great to hear from you I don't know if I'm "a lyricist on steriods." I just want to write excellent songs, work with fun talented people and have awesome demos to pitch to artists. I don't have gazillions of lyrics, I do have some I haven't placed and I have many ideas I haven't finished. When I feel I have an excellent lyric I want to find it the best possible home. Plus I'm pretty good at helping songwriters edit and rewrite lyrics. feel free to email me Ande Man, you are one full on dude. Never seen a lyricist on steriods before, but you certainly fit the bill Must be hard not to come dowm for a couple of years C'mon, smile, just kidding. As I songwriter and producer, I find it a little difficult to get into the "I'm a bunch of lyrics, find me a home" kind of mode. Lyrics are exceptionally important to the piece (oh, duh!) and I appreciate the importance they hold, but find it really difficult to write a piece of music to a set of lyrics, as i have a brain which seems to do both at the same time. You know, see the picture, write the song, tell the story. I don't write great lyrics, more concerned with music, so am happy to write the song and then collaborate with a lyricist to actually make it work, smooth out the wrinkles so to speak. Have a song posted on the mp3 board at the moment, give me your take on it, I accept all constructive criticsm in all it's varied forms. You've got one great work ethic there mate, don't know if I could keep up with ya though, cheers, niteshift

OK Ande! Thanks! Yes Brian, I have been writing ALOT! 4 songs are being made into demo's. Different styles with different co writers. This is a new and fun thing for me. I will put some links on to have a listen as soon as I get them. Maybe I can make up for about a 5 year dry spell. Ha! Got lots of work to do. Tammy www.Tammyedwards.comwww.myspace.com/tammyedwards1

Hi Ande! This is Cher Klosner Lane. I'm interested - I usually write both my lyrics and melodies, but melodies are really easy for me, and I like working with lyricists as well. My brother, Gene, would be interested too. Go to our MySpace - www.Myspace.com/chergeneklosner Our bio is on there too. Also, thanks for the reminder on the Kerrville Songwriter Contest! Cher
