A Country Icon died today. The Pride of Bakersfield and part of the Bakersfield Sound. I lived in his town for a spell. We listened to the friday nite shows on the radio. He sat in with all the talent. We stepped out to the Crystal Palace for lunch here and there. I just want to honor the Man here. Thanks to all who post.

Just heard the news tonight. I am a high school teacher and tonight was one of the performances for the music department's dinner theater show. Their theme this year was Country Muisc USA. So it was a fitting tribute to such an icon. Thanks for posting

I used to listen to his stuff. Every once in a while, one of his songs comes on some of my old recordings, and my feet are always tapping. I always loved the smooth rythmn of "Love's gonna live here." As a kid, I always remember that red, white and blue guitar on Hee Haw. He leaves a legacy of some great tunes. We should all be so lucky.

Thanks so much Everbody. Buck was the Man! He was known for his Telecaster work in the beginning of his career.

Buck, just "Act Naturally" with the other pickers in the afterworld.
He was one of the greats. Good guy too, as I understand it from interviews of others. One of the Country artist that was in awe of The Beatles for their songwriting. I think the feeling was mutual. It should be.
