57 years ago, my dad bought me a mail order guitar course. I didn't use it much....but was cleaning out some old shelves, found it, and decided I would see if I could follow along. See pictures further along in this thread. first song introduced in lesson two of the course is an exercise with the natural scale....no flats or sharps. All downstrokes w pick. Took me awile to learn it, but enjoyed the process. https://jumpshare.com/share/LdDcEHcgPkHmPbjQhrz8

This poem might fit that music:
When sleep descends upon your eyes, and all around the dark conspires, do not fear what lies in store, when sleep comes tapping at your door,
greet this friend with open arms, and lose yourself within its charms, race down roads that never bend, climb up trees that never end,
now rest on clouds that gently glide, and drift above the silent night, and watch the world go slowly past, for here you are in sleeps, soft, grasp.

If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Thanks John. The poem I found on my Facebook feed, trf’d to iPad notes.
I need to find the creator, if I publish in some fashion.
Interested in doing a dream like art video that could match?
Bill

![[Linked Image from live.staticflickr.com]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55452094802_a2c1ddefc9_b.jpg) Custom build, builder unknown. All solid woods used. Circa 1926. Purchased 25 years ago on eBay for $1,200. Tight grain Adirondack spruce top. Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Restored very nicely by Roy McAllister of Gig Harbour. Ladder braced, under 3 lbs in weight. This has peeked my interest in a modern day stand in…like Pre-War Guitar Company 0-18, mahogany back and side, to keep the cost down…..close to $9,000 landed…yeow!

Note to self:
The course was condensed from 96 lessons to 50 lessons in early 1970’s, and a binder was created for the print material + a vinyl record was included.
I have the 96 lesson, the vinyl I just got, not as compatible, but still useful.

![[Linked Image from live.staticflickr.com]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55490396029_c223e619c5_b.jpg) This is the second note practice I am working on. It is designed very much for note practise: whole notes, half notes, quarter notes then a flurry of 8th notes. I played along same notes on a seperate track. then for a third track, i practised my C scales notes up the neck. https://jumpshare.com/share/FZ8VOkXZmsD073P9ykMl
