The best team lost, goalie made the difference Nope. Canada relies too heavily on superstars who don't show up when the game is on the line. McDavid scores a lot of goals, but not when it's important. Losing two Stanley Cups in a row is proof of that. Yes, the US had better goaltending, but you win and lose as a team. During that game, the US was the better team and they deserved gold.

The Canadian team out shot the Americans by a wide margin, had them pinned in their end for most of the second period, but the goalie was super-hot and kept the game safe. The goalie is the most important player on any team, when they are hot they usually win, when they are cold, they usually lose. But congratulation to them, they won, that is what matters.

Com'on.... Americans are just bigger, stronger, and smarter than Canadians, and grow much better produce. Face it, Canadians are just fat, dumb, and LAZY! Somebody should teach them how to skate...

The Canadian team out shot the Americans by a wide margin, had them pinned in their end for most of the second period Did any of those shots go in the net? No they did not. Was the US goalie the only US player on the ice? No he was not. The US won as a team. The "hot goalie" theory is a myth Statistically speaking, it's just not true that the best goalie usually wins the Stanley Cup: in NHL history only a very small handful of Vezina winners have also lifted the Cup in the same season — data from StatMuse shows only a few early-era instances like Tiny Thompson (1930) and Charlie Gardiner (1934) where that happened, and almost none in the modern era under the current award definition. Most players who win the Vezina do not win the Cup that year, which means elite regular-season goaltending doesn’t reliably translate to being on the championship team; playoff performance, team depth, defense, scoring, and matchup luck matter a lot more. Only three players from the Alabama have made it to the NHL, but even I know enough to rely on statistics as indicators of truth, no myths and made up stories. That's why I bet on the US to win. .

The best team lost, goalie made the difference I agree. goalie was the difference. What i don't agree with the guy who said it was clear who the better team was. Pointless The better team does NOT always win. Never been the case. I'd rather be the HOT team. Than the better team. But that guy was sour grapes
