No it's more simple than that.
Ai is keeping this site going
As experiment anyone posting an AI song, stop, we'll see who's left posting bad Denis if bad songs
What ya mean what you can't use ? You get a few professional players together walk in a studio and cut it , Start a YouTube Channel as the artist . Like that
Take a little risk in life , or be forever stuck on forums with AI songs. But you won't , you will continely tell us you will record as the artist , But for the rest of your life push buttons and support robots. Of course you won't make any money as the artist , or little , So lay on your death bed with a morphine drip at about 83 , Well least I gave it a shot . You either go to Disney land or evolution is right and you lay in a 4k box. Probably want to bang that 25 year old nurse thats holding your hand , Men never change. Let's hope Rusty Thoatry is not playing in the back ground , You might need more morphine. Well thats aulful depressing , Lets watch Trump sink the country , in 6 more months. Middle class welfare. I should of become a comedian like Bill Burr

Ya know what's funny, being negative about anything becomes a habit and a shield. Angst is not a good look for anyone because we all have our own. It's a bad habit that you're stuck in. It's fine if that's where you want to put your energy, but to splash it over everyone else is not a good way to move through the world my friend.

You asked where George was , I told you , I hate AI songs , What ya want me say. You're smashing negative by selling out to robots . It's a fuking nightmare trying to beat robots. You called me a coward , I'm not , I kill myself on these songs , the only cowards are AI sell outs. pick a side robots or humans , its war
Well I gotta a little buddy with the war , Will beat em yet buddy . Who gets crucified first robots or Elvis . Thats a little brutal , The trick to 71 year old Elvis is to try to pick up 22-year old Starbuck girls . Just for practice , Ya never know when the 4th divorce is coming

Well join the crowd , most people think I'm crazy , But I get the songs out , hell or high-water. I'd say I'm a little saner than Puff Ditty. 7 months on drugs for 8 bars of music , I'm not that crazy, He makes me look like a graduate of Freud. Though I'm not a fan of a coke habit like Frued to be healed

Ben either likes to play "loopy" or he actually is loopy. Never been able to tell. Don't take him seriously. In spite of his contempt for robots, his best songs are done with robots.

ha ha ha , I've always been crazy , since I was a kid , Though the mental illness gets to me , I fight thru it and gets songs done . its something you live with day by day . Mental illness hit me when I was 22 , its been a nightmare dealing with it
Probably all them miles why I'm crazy . Oh yeah robots Marty , Cuz you sold out . I guess thats it support humans , and drop dead in a studio . maybe a morphine drip on the last song . The fight right to the end. Thats a pretty romantic notion
Well he doesn't post lyrics, he doesn't ask for songwriting critiques or advice, so why is he here?
I can only offer one person's opinion. The majority of people are here for validation. They only want to be told that their song is good.
Generally speaking, I don't like to critique songs. The reason for that is that I am well aware that all I can tell someone is how I would write their song.
So I usually give a visceral response or a mild criticism or suggestion.
You on the other hand, have been writing songs for several years, are in Nashville going to song circles, open mics and whatever else you may be doing .. and exchanging information and ideas with other enthusiastic songwriters... so your comments, particularly with regard to country songs, are much more informed and meaningful than mine, or Elvis.
As a result, I am much more interested in your criticism of a song than I am in mine or Elvis. Glad you're here. If Elvis isn't, he should be.
Well no sense of humor , Lets hear it Kaye. I'm a level headed contractor , I should have never tried to get in the music buisness. This shite drives me bonkers, That shite gets in your system and won't let go. Song after song after song , what an addiction. My dad said what ya out of your fuckin mind to try that , I think he's right

Yes, definitely an addiction. I would advise no one to enter this craziness unless they can't live without it. I reckon if they can't live without it that's even more crazy. I should have been a banker. I was always good at numbers. I blame my music teacher, who drugged me with beautiful music. And there is no cure. Now I'm depressed.

I have to disagree pretty strongly with Marty’s take. Saying “the majority of people are here for validation and only want to hear their song is good” is simply not true. That might apply to one person (maybe Dom), and if Marty feels that way about himself, that’s up to him—but he shouldn’t project that onto everyone else. Most people here post songs because they genuinely want feedback, ideas, and suggestions. That’s the purpose of a songwriter forum. And despite the arguing that pops up, plenty of members are still trying to help each other get better. What is driving people away is the aggression. There are a handful of contributors who derail threads, pick fights, and generally sour the place. Marty, unfortunately is often one of the people contributing to that atmosphere. For what it’s worth, I was in close contact with Couchgrouch outside of this forum earlier this year. I showed him how Suno works (the same way I showed Marty). As a lyricist, he immediately loved it. My guess is that he doesn’t post anymore simply because of the constant arguments and negativity here—not because he only wanted praise. We could have a great community here if more people stopped assuming the worst about others and started focusing on the music again.

Sunset guy, I can only tell you that when you have to play your song live in front of 15 other people and they write their opinion on our lyric sheet and then discuss... that's how you "learn". And frankly, most of the time they were absolutely right when my lyric fell apart, the chorus wasn't strong enough etc etc. I never took offense, neither does anyone else.
The whole point of songwriting is to "communicate" a message and if the message didn't get across I want to know why it didn't and how to correct it.
But there's nothing wrong with saying, wow that's a great hook, perhaps you might want to explore x y or z or make it more upbeat. etc etc If anyone would like to know what a real critique looks like, go ahead, be brave, post your song and I will be happy to listen. p.s. I also used to work for a music supervisor and had to listen to 1,000's of songs before they would even get to her. (yeah, small brag there, sorry) lol
Yeah I remember George , I turned his lyrics into a AI song , Like I said , He said he's to old now , Or something of that effect . I pay session players in Nashville , pay for studios , Work for 2 weeks for one song . Then here comes Suno , Done in 7 seconds for a penney , gets me upset. gum cost more. The problem is AI songs are really good and getting better . Then I sit here and listen to them ,man I gotta beat that

An expensive demo will never save a crappy song. Not possible.
oh thanks alot , Not only am I coward , all my songs are crappy , Well I guess I'll watch Forest Gump , I can't handle any more about Puff Diddy . But come to think of it coward of the country was a great song. Yup your from Nashville , I've heard that many times from publishers . you can't put lip stick on a pig. Thats not a crappy song , Co written with Brent Baxter . his had a few hits . I remember the conversation , We won't worry about publishers , Well just write it what you can say in a song . Brent can run circles around everyone

Sorry to disappoint...
Years ago, I read the Jason Blum book. Most of the "critiques" that I have gotten over the years have been an echo from somewhere in that.
IF...
I were serious about being a songwriter in Nashville, I would write VCVCBC. I would write the chorus first around a "hook" or quip and stay on it, until it rang, then fill out the verses. But I am not in Nashville, and not interested in pursuing songwriting according to the stated and unstated rules and sensibilities of the "real" songwriting" community. It's a personal hobby.
I am here on this ammy website amongst my counterparts...for the most part.
I unapologetically write whatever I'm moved to write. I do not expect anyone to like it or comment on it. If someone comments, I'm fine with whatever they want to think, as long as they are not just being a needling piss-ant-themum.
Given the context, I feel that I have every right in the world to be here and participate however suits me.
Having said all that, I am working on a song now (though distracted), and if you leave a critique about it, I'll be fine with that. If you ignore it, I'll be fine with that.
As far as my remark about people wanting validation... I stated that because it is so obviously and inarguably true. Furthermore, the people who that statement offends the most are almost always the self-described prima donnas who it describes almost exactly.
Wow, I totally forgot about Jason, he actually evaluated a few of my songs and was pretty gracious, and yeah, I read his book too. Write whatever you like, I'm down with that. not a problem.
I like to hear other people's melodies and structures. Jason's book is really just a basic building block for country music, nothing more or less than that.
I will say, however, the formula has worked for many many years. LOL Maybe that's just because how our brains work? ie. tell me the story, tell me the point, continue the story, tell me the point again, give me a juicy change in melody, then tell me the point again. sounds easy, but it's really not.
Of course I'm no Taylor Swift or Freddy Mercury.................(damn, can't believe I put those two in the same sentence) but it is, what it is.
I'm a Carly Simon fan myself.....James Taylor, Cat Stevens... I know, I'm old.. LOL
Thats couch grouch , you guys were asking about , I don't think people want to step up to the plate anymore and record , So thats it, AI a go go , whatever

Me too. A fan of all of them. Taylor Swift made it work. One has to admire that.
It took some years of maturing for me to realize how unbelievably unique and talented Freddy Mercury and Queen were. I started to realize it because of Wayne's World.

Well it says couch grouch , What I was doing with Dom , is I heard his voice a couple years ago , Thought he sang good , So I encouraged him to go to the studio . But no avail , its push buttons , whatever

You keep banging on the bots. I'm truly enjoying what you are doing lately. Lyrics and all. And you are doing it with the Bot-Band.
You are a bot-boi, yet somehow in total denial about it.
what bot band , its Nashville session players . like I said you can use Suno for the melody , But you got to record it . This site is more drama then the Poldarks on net flix

Sunset Guy
Kay-Lynn, apparently Sunset is “unapologetically” writing for himself and not following any craft or community norms. That’s fine—everyone can approach songwriting however they want. But many others do take the craft seriously, and they share their work because they want to improve. That doesn’t make them prima donnas; it just means they have a different purpose here than he does. Dismissing people who actually want thoughtful critique as “validation-seekers” is unfair, inaccurate, and, frankly, a bit self-absorbed.
Right here comes the Rob- Marty feud , Tony is right this site is nothing but a bad habit. The craft seriously, thats kinda a funny . Not recording anything . Just push buttons. Unfair thats kinda funny too , you pay one penney as artists starve paying there fair share for a song

In alll honesty it took a while, but many feel I had a marketable voice. I always thought if my voice as something I use to do my songs to
Never took lessons, decent range, not very technical, but I can sound really really good. My buddie mom every time she heard me sing she'd say your voice belongs in records
That said, I don't need a studio to sing. The tech fir home recording is really good if looking for radio quality then maybe a studio
