Thought you might get a kick out of seeing the first song I ever had published... and I've posted a link so you can hear the melody. That's me doing the lousy vocal... LOL.. I was so nervous and it was in some other demo singer's key.. blah blah. Unfortunately , the guy who published this song is no longer a full time publisher but I can't get the song back unless I repay for the demo costs. About $450.00.arggg

Hi Kay-Lynn:
You say you 'can't get the song back" and I think what you mean is you can't get the publishing back. However, I hope you know you certainly can be out there pitching the song to other publishers and artists, managers, labels, etc. If somebody wants to cut it, then it's going to be worth it to pay the $450.00 to "exercise" your "reversion clause."

I hope you didn't have to put up any money to get this published in the first place. Paying to get published is not the way to go. There are "song sharks" out there who charge for putting lyrics to tunes, for instance, and I'm sure some charge to publish (and to register copyright, too), so I hope you didn't meet one of them.

He has not disappeared... he just doesn't have publishing as his full time job anymore....
and p.s. Of course I didn't pay him anything but the reversion clause says I get the song back after I re-pay the demo costs.

Major cuts are real difficult to achieve even for established writers , its more combative than the Stock market Sounds pretty good , Not sure it fits trends today in 2025

Well they make enough cheesy hallmark movies, someone might need it someday.. hahah yeah they do make some cheesy romantic comedies . Who knows maybe it might fit. The Gods Of Egypt was a bit over the top , Yeah right that happened, its always saved in the nick of time on these movies
