The Simon Sorghum Festival is held annually at the John Roger Simon Farm in West Portsmouth, Ohio, located at 8721 Careys Run Pond Creek Road. It's a two-day event at the end of September that celebrates Appalachian heritage with live music, crafts, and demonstrations of sorghum syrup making. Location:

What to Expect:
Sorghum Syrup Making: The festival features the on-site creation of fresh sorghum syrup.
Appalachian Heritage: There are demonstrations of traditional rural skills and crafts. Music & Food: Enjoy live traditional string instrument music and Appalachian-style homemade food and desserts. Historic Site: The festival takes place at a 150-year-old homestead surrounded by forests.
