A SINGLE ROSE https://www.soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=15013828Vocal/ Production Michael Denny Composed by Michael Denny & John Vaughan There's a single rose, she oftened placed weathered inscription that times erased Soldiers tomb deep as a loved ones sorrow a past, no present and no tomorrow. This single rose was the symbol of a soldiers sweethearts eternal love. A flower that never shall wilt or fade a loving memory, a pledge repaid . The howling wind, the summer sun pass unnoticed to England's son Only fragile old photographs and a soon forgotten epitaph. Instrumental If theres solace after sorrow for all the years that fate borrowed When her sleeping eyes open again in a next world maybe their love will remain The howling wind, the summer sun pass unnoticed to England's son. Only fragile old photographs and a soon forgotten epitaph . There's a single rose, she oftened placed weathered inscription that times erased . Soldiers tomb deep as a loved ones sorrow a past, no present and no tomorrow.

This kind of recording really makes me jealous. I wish I had a "dead room" and some really good mics... NICE!

Wow John. Truly lovely. Lyrics, music, vocal delivery...all of it. Singer is perfect to my ear. It's so nuanced and good, that it sounds like AI. You should be proud. Marty Ps, my wife who never compliments recordings on the amateur sites called out to ask who that is? That's actually a high bar to get over.

Tony,
The singer is not at the level of me or you. The singer is exceptional. I am an adequate singer for certain songs in certain limited ranges. I can only dream about delivering that singer's level of nuance and emotion. John's song was very good to begin with and the singer made us feel it, like few can.
So, I am unable to show you.

Tony,
There are videos that can explain that better than me. Let's not ruin this thread with this. The song deserves better.
The point that I was making is that you can make a vocal recording in a sound dead studio.(I have) Or you can make a vocal recording in my home office.
In either place, if you have a vocal (source) that is this exceptional, it's going to sound great with a good engineer.

Thanks Tony & Marty for your thumbs up. Yes Mike is an outstanding singer. The lyric was written a while ago with a rewrite done recently. I don't sing too well. basic on my acoustic Fender skills, but I do manage to get head tunes that more or less work out. That is with a competent musician/ singer. I did a few of these with Mike Zaneski, now he is a great musician/ singer. John

Thanks Ed,.Tony Marty and bennash .I guess it shows that a big production job isn't necessarily needed. Happy how this track worked out. Thank you gentlemen. John
