Hi Everyone, any and all comments are welcome, while first impressions are most appreciated. Thanks! "Fair-Weather Friends"Words & Music By Tom Tognaci https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=15003854The songbird sings in the warm summer sun Its song is sweet and endearing But when it has sung the last note on its tongue It flies away, disappearing For oh, the sun may stop shining And oh, the snow falls cold And oh, that winter’s wind may throw A tantrum to behold You’ll hold my hand, and that’s all right by me It’s all been fine and fair sailing You smile and I nod, and we always agree But will it go without failing? For oh, the sky may turn bitter And oh, the rain may come And yes, that devil wind may send Those clouds to block the sun All those fair-weather friends, they’ll up and run, like the birds that leave the trees While the songbird chases the summer sun; I’ll be left behind to freeze Left behind to freeze Now, Let it be known that this story I’ve told Was once first penned a cappella But when a wild storm brewed and its big thunder rolled You up and shared your umbrella Oh, how the sky had opened With a trumpet’s golden sound The dark clouds went their separate ways And a true-blue friend was found A true-blue friend was found All those fair-weather friends, they’ll up and run, like the birds that leave the trees While the songbird chases the summer sun; I’ll be chasing you on skis In the frosty mountain breeze

Woaha....this place has died! Is there going to be a wake?
May I should just say it's an AI song... it'll probably do much better there. The times are a changing!

Hi Elvis.... it's really disappointing. Fair-Weather Friends isn't a bad song, but it is being totally ignored. Oh well, can't beg anyone for comments. In fact, maybe it's time to walk away from all these "music sites". They are turning into AI havens, anyways.

May I should just say it's an AI song... it'll probably do much better there. The times are a changing! Nice song. For the last couple of days, the arguments about Trump, Jesus and whatever else have stopped. So the site has been stripped down to songs. And the site is quieter, however there still appears to be people viewing this and that. A rational goal now would be to build on the song base that remains and see if this site can exist for that purpose alone. If it can't, I'd say its doomed anyways. My2 Marty

Hey there Marty...
It's like this across the internet. People are losing interest in organic music, and going for having a computer doing it for them.
This song, here, "My Fair-Weather Friend" is surely no groundbreaking song, but should garner a thumbs up or something.
I guess I'm not "the real deal" however, so just ignore my stuff. I hate the thought of letting AI do it for me. I am in a growing minority it appears. Hell, the site owner promotes AI as a "song writing tool". What a joke that is.
The way things are moving, I'll be disappeared soon. It was nice knowing all of you.

Tom,
You are a mainstay here. If this site loses your song input, it loses some "bread and butter."
A suggestion... The learning curve on SUNO is no time hardly at all, and they make it easier every time that they upgrade it. I still make songs with the DAW and mics, but I have gotten to where I greatly enjoy doing a parallel version of my songs using AI.
You might enjoy it too.

Marty Hi Marty... while I appreciate "bread and butter," I am more likened to that flaming desert served at the table across the room. I hear what you are saying about Suno and learning curves. Covering my own songs are interesting enough, but I won't use AI to actually write anything. Most do not have that determination. Oh well... complaining about no one listening to my songs is like complaining the fish aren't biting.

You know Tom, you and I belong to the 70's - my fav era of music. It was an era where we saw the previous success of the British invasion and many one hit wonders and of course the Beach Boys/Four Seasons/and many more great pop artists from the 60's that owned the radio waves. You have a Dyanesk vibe and genuine sound, not perfect, but real and pleasing. I could buy you art and enjoy its authenticity that just oozes from your soul.
You may not get rich from your compositions, but know that it matters and that it speaks to those who hear it.

Tom,
You are a pretty good singer-songwriter.
I'm not a fan of this one that said. What's wrong with this site is response like Marty's and Travis. I mean, why bother?
Marty says... Nice song. Then talks about something else. Nice song? I saw him say pleasant song to others....
Wowwwww.
Then Travis says pleasing melody????
I mean Jesus Christ. They simply wanna exchange pleasantries in order to get the same. In end means nothing to you.
I'll say this .. This one is bad. But I enjoyed both songs that came after this one. Kept me listening.
This one with the harmonica is good.
Problem with the site is we don't have enough people. Especially people who know anything about songwriting.
Cliques will form , and Buddy systems will be here.
But I would never trust a review from Marty or Travis

Fde,
There aren't the volume of active members within the MP3/Lyric forums of the previous decade for sure. I used to offer much more constructive crits and my opinions for sure as did many others. In the long run what happens is you become "songwriter acquaintances/friends" and it just doesn't feel good to get that serious or worth the sometimes "flak" you get back. Real critics don't care about flak I suppose. I've certainly mellowed a bit about crits, but still do offer a few--not that I'm any expert however.
But Tom's song has interesting lyrics for me and his vocals always individual/distinct and REAL--sure a little melodyne hear and there could be beneficial, or maybe backing off (automation) the volume of the rhythm picking during the guitar solo. Most "original track songs" around here could be better arranged and use professional musicians/vox. But Tom's raw artistic talent shines through for me--even if I didn't like the song......I enjoy listening to "good raw" better than "highly produced boring" -- just say'n & JMO.
Tom's music style and vocal delivery remind me of a couple past posters--Mr. Nelson & Bobbie Wayne.

steady-eddie I totally see where your coming from. Its totally childish for somebody to retaliate in a negative way. I don't mind critiques so long as they are not powered by animosity, hatred, exclusionism. Like Marty has threatened to give me his brutal critiques. Yeah, but nobody is searching for in depth critique. But it's pretty obvious somebody did not like a song. If they say pleasant somg, pleasant melody. Hey everybody let's have a party, bring music that has pleasant melodies.!!!!!! It's one thing if you simply don't know... But it's true, there's not enough people, and too many old people who have one kind of song they understand. It's a problem. But why would some body work hard in a song, producing however they do, just to hear.. . Pleasant melody. The truth is they dint really think it's any good They expect more from their songs when they post. Nudging people to get better, Marty wants no part of that. He'd rather post a song, hide the lyrics, make a video with it, before anyone even gets a chance to take it in. At that point what do you say? Pleasant song, I think? This is not a music audience. Not real listeners. It's a songwriting site, for people who do the same

steady-eddie Yeah... pretty much. Love the 60's music, where all the GREAT stuff began. the 70's was an even greater wave of continuation. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. But I would never trust a review from Marty or Travis I use to fall in line with all those with flippant remarks towards "atta-boys". But over the years, I've began to resent all those who simply want to shred someone else's musical ideas to mirror their own. I appreciate "atta-boys" far more than the twisting and wringing of my song to a beat that makes no sense to me. I like the first impressions I get and do appreciate comments... but often come the butcher's knives to carve out what shouldn't be touched. And sadly, when the suggestions are argued, then the ole "you just want atta-boys" speeches come out. LOL. I've learned to appreciate "atta-boys" BTW, "Fair-Weather Friends" is a bad song?

Yeah it's not good, but good news is you have some good ones. Atta boys are nice, nobody likes to be out there with no comments. From an outsider it would look like your not good. But when we know, four people here are ini e with each other and want to play keep away with people who are good, then it's pretty pointless. We used to have good writers, willing to listen to others, not always agree, but listen, and not want to take them down when they post. It can get hairy or personal. But... Pleasant song, sounds good, etc That's ridiculous.

steady-eddie Yeah... I could benefit with a professional studio. I'm just a guy in my little den area making quick and easy recordings. I hope that the writing is able to tell the story... I know my productions and musicianship isn't going to ring any bells. Thanks for saying what you said.... sometimes, it's all we need to hear.

But it really doesn't matter if it's ai or not, what matters is if it's good enough to make you interested
You don't listen to music because it's on a forum, in real life. Only here we do that.
I enjoy listening to indies, but I dint do it cause they are indies, I do it cause they entertain me.
Songs here become a stamp of being here, not a song were wanting to be heard or be liked.
a like from ten real listeners is way more authentic than hundred of views and no comments here
Cause people here are not really here for music

They see how you shift from politics to non ai songs, to ai songs, back to politics, always needing to be the voice of the forum. You've cried wolf enough times.

Dom, Your songs are on par with your insults. Neither one of them contain any truly discernible distinction or credibility or display intelligence.
Step back and think about... That is why you are old, and on a website arguing with old guys who are almost all hobbyists...about how great you are...rather than having ever been awarded a Grammy or any other professional award. You are here with other amateurs and hobbyists, who you think, need your tutelage.
Your delusions of grandeur are imaginary and appear sadly pathological. You are allowed to act them out here and no where else.

No illusions of grandeur, you don't know how to stay out of my songs. you continue to try and make me out to be the bad guy. You don't like having your songs buried . It's not my fault that you have posted the same 4 songs for twenty years here I'm prolific, I write alot, not my problem that you don't. You are a weasel in need of support. Everybody is a problem but you. Why not go away? We heard your four songs for twenty years. One is pretty good, the other three suck and badly. How are you gonna be a fixture here with no songs? Go to a politics forum

Go to a politics forum Like I said Dom, Neither your songs, nor your insults display any self awareness or intelligence. The intelligent quest is not to write 1000 unremarkable songs, as you have, but rather to write one truly good and remarkable song, which you have not. I may not have done it either, but at least, I understand the goal. My songs may be buried here, but they are also buried on SoundCloud and Spotify which is where I am going to place any concern and money if I try to change that.

You can't even begin to insult my work with that embarrassment of a collection you offer. This is about you attacking me. Go away

You can't even begin to insult my work with that embarrassment of a collection you offer. You don't have any "work" done. You have some songwriting done as an amateurist's hobby. Same is true of me, but I don't have delusions. btw..The site now incorporates an immediate sharing capacity to FB, X, Pinterest and Linked-in. Click of a button and the entire thread shares. Think about that.

This is about you attacking me. Go away Dom, Watching you play the victim and accuse me of being unable to stop, is more oblivion and apparent pathology. I was out of town all weekend. When I got back in, I saw that you were calling out my name and slamming me with the usual drivel, about how commenting "nice song" is an egregious act. So, I dropped in on that to offer a countering POV. Until I saw that, I wasn't planning to post anything in regard to you, until some of your latest songs were up for a week. One of your songs in particular, caught my eye as comment fertile with issues. Leave personal references to me out of your posts, and I will reciprocate. And yes, you are an "amateur." And not a gifted amateur. And absolutely unqualified to be handing out songwriting advice and instruction to anyone, anywhere.

Dom,
I don't know how to speak English any better.
This is not about my songs or your songs. this is about harassment.
A little puzzy like you will never bully me. Got it? The first sentence is correct. The second is ridiculous coming from you. You somehow got MFB3s phone number and when he blocked you on this site, you started sending harassing texts to his phone number. That is sickness. For you to be complaining about "harassment" underscores that it is sickness. The third sentence is a laugh.

First of all who the fact is mfb, and seriously I somehow got his number? And harassed him Your so desperate , I don't even know what to say. But he better prove that, and you better prove that before you allege that. Why would I fackin harass him or her? And not you or somebody really pathetic? But I suggest this allegation be substantiated and proven. Cause thats even lower than doing the harassing. Interestingly, shortly after me telling you my name here. I received a text, traced back to Texas, saying my name. I assume that was to scare me,? And your using admin rights if site to gain IP information on people. Thats against the law, and you should not have admin rights if you abuse it like that. I still have that number I'm going to look into that. But I have no admin rights, if anybody is playing that game it's you Contacting authorities

Who is MFB3? He is another person that you have stalked and harassed on this website? Are you really denying that you know who he is?
The thread should not be too hard to track down.
I've brought this up before. You didn't deny it. MFB is a SC connection. I'll see if I can get in touch with him.
One more time...Are you denying that you have any idea who I am talking about?

MFB came back to the site and started posting. But then he quit the site because of your harassment. And you deny even knowing him? Think hard.
You found an old Youtube video of me playing the guitar. You posted it on this site and started demeaning my physical appearance. Do you deny that too? A grown adult named Dom is so twisted and pathetic that he cyber-bullied another 70 year old adult on the basis of physical appearance...like a mean little stunted school girl.
Nothing is too low or too unbelievable for a twisted little creature like you Dom.

Nothing is too low or too unbelievable for a twisted little creature like you Dom. Giving a critique is not harassment, it's taken as such here, because here, everything is great. Bring this accuser to the site, let him post actual texts from his phone, the dates should line up perfectly. Both of you should then go on the same island as that Jessie smollet. As far as your appearance, have you looked in a mirror? Your ugly, butt ugly. You want me off the site cause you are a weak writer, with very few songs to post. Now you will have less as I rewrite all of your horrendous songs.

Dom, I'm not going to get into a debate with an fool about my personal appearance. Anyone interested can go to my SC page and see my pics and decide for their self.
I love to write. I don't really know or care how well I write...I just love to do it. And I enthusiastically try to make it good. However good my songs are is however they good they are.
Nor am I a "musician" or a "guitarist." I am a hobbyist "guitar player."
One thing that I am certain of... I am a better guitar player, songwriter and singer than you, by a long shot. Your personal efforts are all clumsy, elemental, immature, stiff, somewhat unintelligible and odd at times. You wouldn't even have songs to show if SUNO or UDIO did not do 99% of the heavy lifting.
You rant and rant about how great your songs are...but they aren't. The only person in the world talking about how "great" your songs are...is you. In reality, you are just an angry scrub who harasses people and lives in a shoe somewhere.

You simply can not trust a word this liar says Wrong Dom. I don't tell lies. And some moron troll is not going to put me to work on a Sunday night chasing farts into the darkness. What I've learned about terminal fools is that no facts or evidence changes their behavior. The person that you harassed away from here is "Art-Whimsically Yours" on SC. As I have time, I will send him a note. Dom, you once genuinely described yourself as a "loser." We agree on that. There is no "bottom" with a mentality like your. Or...do you deny that also?

Ill call myself a loser makes for great pov in tick music. Calling yourself a loser is a way of reminding yourself that everything in life is gravy. It's a great pov for songwriting, it's how many people feel, but it's also a way of keeping your eye in the prize. Yes bring this liar here and if dint have proof, I'm suing for slander

There was a great line in the series "Mad Men."..."She has the temperment of an artist, but none of the talent." That is you Cletus. MFBIII is the user name here. Do you deny that you ever harassed Mathew?

Oh Cletus,
Your adamance seems to be softening. So do you now remember MFBIII?
With regard to calling yourself a loser... So you are the "tortured magnificent artist who must stay in touch with the earth?"
There was a great line in the series "Mad Men."... "She has the temperment of an artist, but none of the talent." That is you Cletus.
Ps...now you are going to sue people that you call butt ugly? What are the damages?

Very serious thing to do.
Are you willing to admit that's bullshit now,? I know lawyers well fackin sue you and your name will be inline for being a Jessie smollet

Over the next few days, I'll send Mathew a note on SC and ask if my recollection is accurrate. And you are going to sue me?... What will be the damages? A drastic cause and effect drop to your massive songwriting income? Irreparable harm done to your reputation as a faceless internet troll with no address named Cletus and Dom amongst other things?
