I've not written many country flavored songs, but here's one. If you've ever had one of those relationships where mutual agreeing was difficult--this song might bring back a memory. Its fictional however, but I got the idea from a friend who seemed to not get much compromising within his relationship............moving on was best! Electric guitars: Teddy Snyder/drums Simon Miminis/acoustic guitar, vocals, production e.swartz They'll be Plenty of Sun Tomorrow-music lyrics by: e.swartz They'll be Plenty of Sun TomorrowVs. 1) I can feel our love start to wane, all this fighting, well it’s driving me insane We’re like rain and thunder, you’re a never-ending task They’ll be plenty of sun tomorrow, where I can bask (Chorus) Maybe I was out of line; I might have had a little too much wine I could have said a thing or two, that I just might later regret But you won’t leave it alone, until the last word is your own I’d rather call it a day, and let’s just say goodnight Vs 2) I’m not saying we have no common ground, but it’s not enough to keep this man around I don’t claim perfection, but this just won’t work for me They’ll be plenty of sun tomorrow, just wait and see Vs.3) If I say turquoise, you would say chartreuse, you’re a one-way conversation, what’s the use It’s alright to disagree, people do it everyday But you’ve never learned to compromise, you always have to get your way (Repeat Chorus) (Bridge) Every time we have a quarrel; nothing ever seems to get resolved Neither wants to “give or take,” so why bother being involved (Instrumental) (Repeat vs. 1)

Thanks much Ben!
I was never a big Country fan, though have always appreciated the genre. I'll have to go listen to some old W J.

Hi Ed Nice song it has a Dire Straits feel to it and yes Waylon was in there as well, especially, had a little too much wine line in the chorus. John

Interesting fir this genre. Sounds good, interesting choice of music. Enjoyed

Thanks John & Fde,
I could see Waylon doing this song or even Toby Keith. I'll have to check out that Pink Floyd reference - I never listened to Pink Floyd too much. Song could probably use a "real" country boy on the vocals! I will check out your tunes tomorrow--getting late!

This has a very familiar feel that's tickling my nostalgia bone, very 1940's I think

1940's Japov? I know there was early Country music back in the 40's, but I think of Big Band orchestra music and my parent's generation when I think of the 40's. Of course there were many solo artists, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore, Gene Autry, Mills Bros.....(Mills Bros are from my home town in Ohio). Not sure how you see this as a 40's tune, but thanks for the spin!

steady-eddie I don't hear 1940:s but it's not really country. Not that that's a bad thing. This is more classic rock. It sounds like your using augmented chords. And using tension chords, it's not country as I know it, but I'm not a country buff. Maybe it's in jazzier side with sophisticated chords The feel is classic rock too. But who cares what genre it is

steady-eddie Lol... That's it! Something about this chord progression reminds me of old "Big Band" music. Dom is right, that's not a bad thing

Fde & Japov,
I'll try and figure out what these chords are for you guys--I haven't played in a while. It starts with a root D chord to an E root chord then a G minor root chord back to D on the chorus. (using little finger to add notes on each chord with E and GM lifting appropriate middle fingers on D)
(Instrumental)
Vs. 1) I can feel our love start to wane, all this fighting, well it’s driving me insane Vs: D Gm D D Gm A7 Gm A7 Bm G D C G D--chorus
We’re like rain and thunder, you’re a never-ending task They’ll be plenty of sun tomorrow, where I can bask
(Chorus) Maybe I was out of line; I might have had a little too much wine Chorus: D/D6/D E/E6/E7 Gm/Gm6/Gm7/Gm6/Gm D/Dsus2/D/Dsus2/D/Dsus2/D I could have said a thing or two, that I just might later regret But you won’t leave it alone, until the last word is your own I’d rather call it a day, and let’s just say goodnight
Vs 2) I’m not saying we have no common ground, but it’s not enough to keep this man around I don’t claim perfection, but this just won’t work for me They’ll be plenty of sun tomorrow, just wait and see
Vs.3) If I say turquoise, you would say chartreuse, you’re a one-way conversation, what’s the use It’s alright to disagree, people do it everyday But you’ve never learned to compromise, you always have to get your way
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge) Every time we have a quarrel; nothing ever seems to get resolved Bridge: Bm A G D D/Dsus2/D/Dsus2/D Bm A C A7/A7-add G note Neither wants to “give or take,” so why bother being involved
(Instrumental)
(Repeat vs. 1)
