Fur Peace Ranch Local business Built in 1989, Jorma and Vanessa Kaukonen looked at a piece of land in Meigs and conceived what Jorma calls "a ranch that grows guitar players." A legendary flagship location and thousands of students later, classes are now hosted around the U.S. www.furpeaceranch.comWhen you pull up Fur Peace Ranch under a Google search the old ranch photos come up and it says permanently closed. I’m here to tell you that is not completely true. As most of you know, we sold the original facility and moved to a very special place in Athens County, Ohio. We have a wonderful new downsized workshop, podcast studio, and office space right in our neighborhood. The energy is just as special as it ever was. Because as we know what made Fur Peace special were our students and our patrons. This weeks level three finger style guitar class is underway. Thanks to all of you who stuck with us through the move, and we look forward to seeing more of you this year. We still do workshops in Marthas Vineyard, in San Diego, and we will have another one later this year on site in Athens. That information will be coming soon. Our concert season starts in July this year, 2025, with the Help of Stuart Opera House in Nelsonville, Ohio. We have Peter Rowan and Sam Grisman, two Hot Tuna shows, R. Carlos Nakai, Suzy Bogguss, and the Sam Bush band all coming under the new Fur Peace Ranch Production Company. So, no… we are not permanently closed. We are alive and kicking and waiting for you!
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com
