Used a track of mine on "Hunters Season 2: https://screenrant.com/hunters-season-2-premiere-date-final-season-details/ One of my favorite actors in this, Al Pacino. It will be available on Prime Video Jan. 13th. It's about hunting down Nazi War Criminals. John

Do you seek out ane watch stuff that uses your music John? And do you have a complete list of clips anywhere? We should do a video interview and we could play clips and talk about your career!

I do, when I have the opportunity. A lot of time, I don't hear about an airing until after the date. This one I will. "Hunters" is on Prime Video this Friday. This list has many of my placements: https://johnlarenceschick.com/user I'm not much into interviews these days Brian. But thanks for mentioning it. Best, John

Best, John I am thinking about doing it for our YouTube channel John. It could be just us talking about your career, playing some examples of placements where you talk about your inspiration, process and in generic terms how placing songs works (no need to name names etc...). You are doing wonderful things. It would be a shame to lose the expertise you have developed in all this. It is also inspirational for folks over 40 who may feel there is nothing left for them in music. I bet having even a single placement like you regularly get would be a career highlight for many.

I appreciate your kind words Brian. I'm just not interested doing interviews these days. Of course, I'm always willing to share my experiences if anyone has questions in the forums here. "I bet a single placement like you regularly get would be a career highlight for many" - Brian. Yes, the first placement I got was for Dateline NBC - and it definitely was a highlight for me. John

Video 'content', the visual product that spews through cables and the airwaves into billions of watchers, all over Planet Earth, has increased beyond exponential metrics in the early 21st century.
The Boss sings, "Fifty-Seven Channels, and nothin' on!" There are a thousand and fifty-seven channels, and nothin' on, but we watch it anyway.
And all of it 'wants' musical accompaniment. It is a huge market, a global market. They have a 'budget' to pay for music. If you're creating 'broadcast ready' recordings, and can zap them out on demand, or get them into a Music Library where the people whose charge is to spend that budget come looking, you may find a revenue stream that can bring money right back to your house.
We often aspire to be the 'next big thing', the next big star in the country or pop genre, with our songs, and fantasize about the riches it might bring.
But music for video enhancement may be quite lucrative too. Scene-setting mood music, jaunty arrangements that Hook listener attention, is in demand. There are six second ads on the internet, fifteen second ads, mere seconds of musical accompaniment to their sales pitch, that someone got paid for, through a Synchronization License. It's a market most Creatives don't exploit. And could. They are creating recorded product that could serve that function, background music, scene-setting music, mood music to enhance the emotional effect of the visual presentation. Movie soundtracks, documentaries, cartoons, video games, advertising, all have a budget for music. The Music Supervisor or Broadcast Producer is the job title, usually, for the person whose job is to find music. They're always looking and always in a hurry, on a deadline to be ready when the visual presentation is to be made. Your ability to respond quickly, acting on your own, is an asset. Having product created, ready to respond to a 'Brief', a specification of what the Music Supervisor is looking for is an asset. Those technical skills many of you may already be practicing in creating your music may be exactly the skill-set to enable you to exploit this market, this global market, USA, Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, Australia, not so much Antarctica; then again, Antarctic documentaries may want your product!
Explore if you are creating recordings and able to get them in the ears of the people who have the budget to spend.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

Watched the first two episodes (season2). My music was in a short scene in a fancy restaurant (episode 2). Hopefully they'll be using it more throughout Season 2. Okay, so, it is violent, but it's about hunting down (and bringing to justice) Nazi War Criminals. Difficult to portray without violence. The show has wonderful acting (and actors). Judd Hersh was in episode two. Barely recognized him. So, violence & cursing, but it's a class act. John

May start watching this, since we have Prime. Heard your background piano at 25:56, episode 2. Very nice indeed!

If you are every willing. I would love for you to look back and in general terms talk about how much (like I said, in whatever general terms or ranges) some of these earned well after the fact, or continue to earn etc. I know you keep things private, but maybe just "A single episode of a popular series, with a 30 second clip that was background, or featured or ? etc. made in "this" range all in, versus example 2 from a similar show which only did "this" range. You could leave out the names of the shows, just a generic description (30 minute comedy, cable channel, 60 minute crime drama, network, 90 minute spy thriller film released in theater etc. and a range of how much it earned and in what ways (if you got residuals, or if it was a 1 time all-in etc.) These type of real world examples are simply never available. You could even fictionalize them, and simply give realistic but fictional dollar amounts. I know people who have had huge hits, huge movie songs, theme songs, etc. and have talked with them about the $ involved, but you have a continual track record of being a working pro composer getting real life placements in the widest variety of projects I know. It would be a shame not to share even a little of how that reality really is. I know you say no to these requests, but until one of is gone I guess I will keep asking. It would be so educational like I said, even if it was all fictional but realistic.

Wow. I was listening for piano and heard percussion at first. Great piece, John! Thanks Craig! I played the percussion on the keyboard. it was all played (not looped). Different drum & percussion sounds on different keys. The drum /perc rolls were done with electric trills on the keyboard. So no, nothing was done using AI - ha, ha. Thanks again, John

You must be a student of percussion and polyrhythms, and all that jazz. Sounds very contemporary as in season 3 White Lotus used a lot of drums local to Thailand. No way AI! Great stuff.
