https://www.soundclick.com/couchgrouchEverything Happens for a Rhyme ©2012 Robert George It’s a Rocky Mountain shack in late December And an evening storm is rolling in So I’ll grab my notepad while I still remember Lines of wisdom nestled in the wind And the weather serves the season And the season’s tethered close to time In this world everything happens for a reason But for poets…everything happens for a rhyme Carpenters will carve a dresser or a cradle From a frosty grove that’s wintergreen But a poet’s nights are futile, slow and fatal Should his pen refuse to intervene And the weather serves the season And the season’s tethered close to time In this world everything happens for a reason But for poets…everything happens for a rhyme O the teardrops of loss, are his rivers to cross And they keep him searching ever inward And the midnight sadness and the quiet madness Are the harvest of his haunted vineyard Now the softly falling snow becomes confetti In a lonely night parade of ghosts And my page is empty but my pen is ready To revisit friends I miss the most And the weather serves the season And the season’s tethered close to time In this world everything happens for a reason But for poets…everything happens for a rhyme It’s a Rocky Mountain shack in late December And an evening storm is rolling in…

Oh boy...Robert George is okay with AI as co-writer!!!
This must actually be exciting for you, what with your amazing back catalogue of beautiful lyrics.
Beautiful song, as usual. A very well crafted lyric, and the chorus is perfect in every way.
There's a double meaning and capitol Truth, insiders Truth, with your tag line, in that, for writers, literally, we BACKWARDS ENGINEER our work, at times, to make that unique, beautiful, perfect rhyme...work, and we, in writing this way, find that the songs' meaning can "emerge" from thin air like that.
That's one of the wonders of songwriting, and that's why that tag is especially powerful for us writers who have ever found meaning, emerging from the dust of a great rhyme, and then we know what our song's about, and steer it accordingly.
It's actually the way I work, most of the time.
Mike

Thanks, Mike, and it's good to see you on JPF. I don't know tech, so at first I didn't know what AI was. Then Rob B. sent me Idiot Proof. Do you remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs has a fit whenever he gets near gold? a bartender tells Yosemite Sam that a "funny feelin" came over Bugs that enabled him to find gold. Sam looks around, scheming, and growls, "I got a funny feelin' comin' over ME!" that's how I felt when I realized what I could do with it. No more needing overpaid Nashville cats for demos. I could demo what I wanted, with the arrangements I wanted. (more or less) Can't beat that.
