This one is dedicated to my wonderful and patient wife. Any and all comments are welcome, while first impressions are most welcome. "Alleluia ... ...(How You Saved Me From Myself)" Words & Music By Tom Tognacihttps://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14962878I'm surely not the best of men; I stumble and I fall Try as I may, I find myself at the foot of some brick wall It's something I can't get over; in my nature, I guess Or maybe it's something deeper, keeping me from doing my best Alleluia... the sun began to shine Alleluia... when your heart found mine I'm a sinner, a tramp, and full of pride But you pulled me over... over that wall to the other side Alleluia, Alleluia, you saved me from myself Alleluia, Alleluia, how you saved me from myself Since then, I've walked that crooked line much straighter than before But I have to say, the narrow path is a balancing act, for sure Precariously, I teeter; some habits are hard to break I know you've had cause to leave me if it weren't for Heaven's sake Alleluia... oh, how the sun does shine Alleluia... keeping your heart close to mine Lost and wandering, but never on my own How you steered me over that winding road I had always known Alleluia, Alleluia, you saved me from myself Alleluia, Alleluia, how you saved me from myself How you saved me from myself

That's as natural and "organic" as it gets! That's what I am going for. Thanks for listening and commenting. It's quite different, and one I really like.

Nice job Tom , rolls nicely. The Alleluia reminds me of Choen I would go so far to say that any song with a "Hallelujah, Halleluiah, or Alleluia" in it will remind us of Choen.

Wow Thomas that is special. Heartfelt is an understatement. The simple arrangement brought out the honesty and beauty of your song. Very touching, Tom

Good song, Tom. If you are open to suggestions, I think trying a slightly slower tempo and then you could put more emotional punch into a lyric that has humbly beautiful lines like "you saved me from myself." Also, when you sing 'alleluia' in the second half of the chorus, you are actually doubling the Cohen melody and rhythm, there, "mi sol la...la" Just my thoughts on your song, no more, no less. Mike

Mike Thanks Mike..... I wrote it and recorded it, right after. there are a hundred different way I can sing it. My wife likes it, so I'm happy. I really don't think anyone cares if it sounds like Cohen's song. Not many care at all!
