What link? SUNO? If it is SUNO, just google SUNO and that will take you to them.

I got it , sounds great , Id cut v1 to get to chorus quicker
It is great tool , then take it out of Suno, and make it your own , So you can promote yourself as a artist

Ben

As soon as I start to get the hang of all this, that is the plan.

SUNO exports stems to what it produces. I havent done that yet, but I suspect that the stems are pretty good and headed for better.

So theoretically,
import the SUNO stems for instruments into a DAW.
Add more as VSTs or actual instrument recordings
Try to sing with all that....which may take a lot more vocal horsepower than I have...but I can try.

Inevitably, The DAW guys and the AI guys are going to take from each other and blend it all together, in their respective programs.
And buy each other out and so forth.

I dont know where this all leads, but I'm gonna try to hang on to the horse.

Have a good weekend,

Marty

Ps...I appreciate the compliment on the song, but SUNO did most of the heavy lifting. wink

Yes you can download one stem with all instruments, and one stem with vocals, with instruments vaguely in the background . Unless they've improved .
I use AI for ideas ,their capabilities' on downloads do not concern me . AI sites probably run on 3 levels . amateurs , semi pro , and pro. Jack the artist , might have a alas Sugar Foot for AI to use for ideas . Sony is not going to know he used AI for ideas . Pro songwriters , might be doing the same as Jack is doing . Publishers aren't going to know Bob the songwriter used ideas from AI, if its all tracked out using session players , and like always , a young demo singer.

12 notes is underrated , There's a galaxy of variables. or over rated , which either of them make sense .

What it is, and since I was the first one here to experi with it, I know.... it's two fold.

For some, it's a new art form, it may take time to be viewed that way. But,somebody's figured out a way to re assemble songs in a new way. Even if AI does everything . The people with a talent for doing this will be the new artist. Results will vary.

Secondly, for most here, it's a list of possibilities.

Ahh..I can go this way with this song, that way, or the other way.

I can use the verse on this one, the chorus on another, bridge in another.

I have some songs that God honestly, nothing was better than my version.

Couldn't find that feel or whatever.

In this cases you go with what you already have.

I think we still need clarity on what is considered stolen or what is referenced.

And I think ultimately, we can use our own musical ideas, and it use AI as a band and not a creator.

That's when it's going to get fun

Ben

At the present time I can go into a DAW/VST and select a single drum hit and change it, delete, or adjust the amplitude (velocity).
In SUNO, all I can do as yet is upload the lyrics and type in some guiding prompts...then click "create" and see what comes back...and then try again with adjustments to the prompts.

One of the frustrating things about SUNO is that it sometimes makes decisions on its own that I dont like.

The point...
This AI will blend with the DAWs and a greater level of control at more focused-in levels will evolve. And they will be user friendly.
I have watched this evolution with AutoCAD and Revit.

For now SUNO is fun, and amazing. The other benefit is that I can take a vacation and engage it with a Chromebook easily. DAW can't do that.

Marty

PS. Rob sent me a long list of prompts from some article. They were helpful. You might like to get them from him.

Ahh I see. No I'll stick to session players , for now anyway . Who knows down the line . thanks. That kinda goes what that session player told me . AI might put me out of business.
it might . it could go something like this, AI and session players working together, which it already is in some forms . Like experts warning on all advanced robots replacing humans . Some kind of regulations . they already have watch dogs keeping a eye on new technology, of course were talking on 3 minute songs .

I feel for session players.

It is hard to see a way, that there world is not shrinking.
Which seems unfair given all the hours that they have put in to become legit session players.
Even here in Houston, at a local studio that I used to use, all the session players there were real good.

Have a good Sunday.

Fishing , watching ducks, geese, and otters. And not think about music and business. lol. AI is a continuous of cavemen drawing pictures on cave walls. They probably thought that was pretty advanced . Discovering fire was probably about like building the first computer . Cavemen still linger their DNA in ours. Fight, flight, freeze, always will I imagine .

if you pay on promotion , You'll get listeners . Money stops , so does the listens. Money to be made 0 , unless your the big boys. Basically a expensive hobby , like 70k bass boats . or over priced homes with a 4k a month mortgages . The American nightmares. BS by Warren Buffett. Think 3000 square feet , not logical. Banks will love you .So will that divorce lawyer, when you can't afford it . Think strip malls , not strip joints in the same location . But I guarantee. There's some stripping going on to afford homes and strippers . One out of three children suffer from toxic stress . Well wait till they have to pay 4k a month at 22-years old . that's basically a warm up at 6 -years old .

I got lost beyond what is quoted.

I pay Distrokid 20 bucks a year and get to upload as many songs as I want which they send out to the various outlets and streaming services.
The photo of the song-art in a cassette case is just something that they throw in for fun.
On the last song that I uploaded they fabricated an advertisement inside a subway car, for fun, at no charge.

For me, it's a hobby, but with what I have been able to learn about sound engineering and Distrokid...it is not an expensive one.
Now AI will allow me to work on lyrics at 10 bucks a month for more capacity than I will probably use.
I'm looking at adding a lap steel VST for about $150. That is a major expense in my music production world.

You got lost ? there's no money in music , except for a small % of prodigies . Play metal music to 6- year olds , I'd skip the Bach . Nice warm up to chaos coming .

As "The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby . Echo's thru the minds . would Bruce be heard today with 50 trillion songs ? Hard to say. Everybody in the music industry asking you for money , love delusions. they're counting on it .Atheist's, Christians. No matter, $$$$$$$ baby. Once you realize that, and your not in a tent , in one them overcrowded cities Musk loves so much to sell cars . Its the hard way every time by Croce , and were full circle back to Bruce .Bumper to bumper traffic in San Fran , house worth 200k , going for 2mil. And a sign , "Your therapy is showing". And your going to need it living there. Blue collar ?, out of luck . Commute from Modesto. That unlucky gene -pool DNA draw .

Hard to say. He would be out playing, which appears to be the only way that music makes money.

For me, I have a specific reason;

There is a microbrewery near my home.
They are expanding.
I am just finishing up the const dox for the owner and it looks like I will manage the construction, because GC bids came in too high.
One of the bartenders is a very good guitarist.
I shared my music hobby with him and told him that he could hear me on Spotify.
He liked NOW I KNOW and it became a little bit of a hit down at the brewery. Got several compliments. They worked my Spotify playlist into their Spotify rotation.
The guitarist and I started getting together with guitars.
I ask him if he wanted to do the electrix for STAY THE HELL AWAY. He did.
I uploaded that song to Spotify and deleted all but 4 songs... so that he could easily feature his guitar playing at the brewery, using Spotify, which he does.
Every time I go down there lately, I get complimented on my voice and the song. The voice part takes some getting used to.
It's nice. We plan to work up a couple of sets and play some wine bar type venues.
The other day I was at a karaoke party at the guitarist's house and I thought that he had put on Willy singing BLUE EYES. It was the guitarist singing.
Something to enjoy for this old guy. Guitarist is 1/2 my age minus one year.

So, regardless of what else Spotify may not be for me...it works at the brewery.

I think that I am going to have to go to re-hab and get un-addicted to SUNO. I reworked this song last night and love what SUNO did to it.

Marty,
with the 10$ per month Pro version of Suno you get the much better V4 engine which not only sounds better but does much better writing as well. That version supports a function called "Replace". You can mark sections of your song that you don't like and Suno will do those sections over (and over and over) again. You can also modify the lyrics in the process so it can do the section again with different lyrics. V4 also supports a "cover" function which allows you to upload your own melody, vocal or complete song and have Suno create a cover version. So if you have a rock song and want to hear what it sounds like as an R&B song, just cover it. Or you can use that function to exchange your vocalist, etc. The package also includes 2500 credits per month. That will get you really addicted.

All the best - Robert

Thanks for the info Rob.

It is v4. I switched to a pay acct months ago after I read that SUNO retains the rights to their product unless you give them the 10 bucks.
For what they deliver, compared to what I use to pay to pay to do one song in the studio, $10 is free. Truth is, I like what SUNO can do much better than what I could do in a studio.

Only shortcoming seems to be that the credits don't accrue. I didn't use the account for months and I still had less than 2500 credits. Does that sound correct to you?

In other news, I appreciate the awareness that you have given me of the other functions. I did go into edit and saw that the parts were sectioned, but did not know what controls a user had. Now I need to do some schooling on it.

Thanks much,

Marty
