Football? I just don't get it...

Two teams of 300lb roid-raging neanderthals, wearing helmets and oversized padding, on a 1 acre grid, fighting for possession of a big leather egg... with rules and time limits. AND THEY GET PAID MILLIONS! IT'S A MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY!

I'll watch when they start using weapons like the Romans...

The journey is definitely more important than the destination...

Washington ,+ 3

Green Bay +5

Buffalo -9

Solely point spread based picks.

I can't see Denver having any chance at all coming out east , they probably shouldn't even be in the playoffs

Green bay there is value in those points they're getting

Washington is kind of a meh pick, neither team excited me, but call it a lower priority pick

From the post above (you copied it)

I did waffle a bit on Washington, and in fact changed my mind ..... but I'll take the Bucs

so
The Bucs away will beat Washington
The Pack's away and will beat Philadelphia
The Rams at home will beat the Vikings

oh and not saying I am a superfan or greatly knowledgeable, but I did watch Len Dawson ands Otis Taylor perform their magic....with Podolak in the backfield.
On defence the great (IMO) Willie Lanier and Emmit Thomas were playing

So a long time fan...

And yes, Steelers came alive and almost made it a game. AND IMo Houston won it in the last minute of the 1st half with a TD and FG in under a minute.

Enjoy the games

Can't understand why the best game is in 4:30, packers eagles, but the least interesting game on prime time. NFL usually fixes them to be on prime time

The ram game tommorow is interesting, if you're taking the Rams your doing so on experience and their history, where'asvthe Vikings haven't been relavent in a long time. Even the odds makers are catering to the Rams.

Reality is Vikings had a much better season. Rams get home field cause they won that [naughty word removed] division

I don't like dying with ship. Gotta look at it some more

Not that I trust darnold in a big primetime spot

Stafford & McVay vs Darnold & Former McVay Asst Connell...
Connell and McVay know eachother well.....won their last Suprbowl together....so the game plans will be fun....
Seems may be played outside of LA...so Rams do not have home advantage
Forgot that in my thinking and pick...duh

To me the Pack vs Eagles is a bit like Steelers and Baltimore yesterday.
If Philly can keep their plans together, they might keep rolling on to Detroit.
But if the Pack have a good day...bye bye birdies.

oh and I see Broncs have drawn first blood

The pack have a much more talented team than Pitt. Pitt gets by with coaching, never had a real chance .

Bills will sock it to them second half

Going back to Steeltown...it was Terry Bradshaw who gave me the heads up thinking about how our genetic endowments dictate our lives

Asked what made him a great QB, he answered with this question "Have you seen the size of my hands?"

Look at Robert Johnson pictures. Do you see the length of his "spider fingers"?

Just some ADHD on display

Terry Bradshaw also famously said when asked what he'd do next after retiring... I m gonna do what my dog does just live.

Lol but your funny Terry Bradshaw has nothing to do with today's Steelers

As anemic as Green bay was first half they managed to stay alive.

The importance of the 5 points looms large.

They weathered the initial storm.

Gotta break through with some points...

Defense travels....

Their coach has to be telling them they are still in this.

Yes the coach would have to say that...but what are they planning? Seems GB simply cannot sustain the drives

Glad you did not take me up on the bet.

Oohhh Tony, you look good in those vividly coloured Orenthals. They make you look like you know football. wink

Well John, you couldn't even beat me in a short sample size, imagine over a hundred game stretch lollll.

Just playing, but that was the most entertaining game yet, mostly cause the defenses weren't very good it was up and down ait, except in red zone.

Tommorow game, it seems to me everybody is on the Rams, I tell u right now I WONT take Rams, question is will I take Vikings.

I think Vikings catch a break playing on neutral site due to la being displaced by fires, and I think it affects Rams and they're families more emotionally, sports is about emotion as much as anything. Motivation and emotion.

2 for 3 against the spread is always welcome with me

Tommorow game, it seems to me everybody is on the Rams, I tell u right now I WONT take Rams, question is will I take Vikings.

I think Vikings catch a break playing on neutral site due to la being displaced by fires, and I think it affects Rams and they're families more emotionally, sports is about emotion as much as anything. Motivation and emotion.

2 for 3 against the spread is always welcome with me

The Pack was also beaten up and a number of key injuries on the field did not help

Oh and in straight up win\loss choices I am 0 for ....Washington won too.

So my take is that it bodes badly for the Rams if I picked em...

It certainly does lollll.

Tbh it's such a fine line between winning and losing. My niece can best me on any one day

And the difference between 2-1 or 1-2 is massive

Might take me all year to average. Out 2-3 per day over time.

And contrary to belief it's alot of work and just as valid as stocks or anything involving risk management

Hats off to you Dom...on to the next round

I don't see picks from John..... And I know why.tiu have two big favorites, neither likely to lose the game, so picking lions and chiefs to win the game is a bit like picking tommorow is Sunday

That's why point spreads the only way to do it.

I discovered lions have a 65% red zone conversation rate, which is mind boggling. but it also forces the defense to go all out and limiting the td. If you didn't know you night not find out to late

Fur this game I'm going under 55 total points.

I know, I might be the only person in America who doesn't think it will be a high scoring game.

Id love to see Texans upset KC...if they could get same pressure they'd have a shot.

Staying away from it

Buckle Up and settle in Ya'll... Israel is going to be in the news for a while.
-----------------------------------

""UN watchdog chief warns world Iran’s ‘pressing gas pedal’ on nuclear program.

The United Nations nuclear watchdog chief is warning world leaders that Iran’s recent promise to ramp up enrichment of uranium to nuclear weapons grade levels is well underway. Rafael Grossi, the International Atomic Energy Agency Director General, said, “Iran has moved into increasing the production, enrichment of 60% sevenfold.”

Grossi added, “So, I think this is a clear indication of an acceleration. They are pressing the gas pedal.”

Grossi told reporters at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, Jan. 21, Iran told the U.N. nuclear watchdog in December 2024 that it would rapidly increase uranium enrichment to around 90% purity.

The IAEA said about 42kg of uranium enriched to that level is enough to create one nuclear bomb.

Grossi said Iran currently has about 200 kg of uranium enriched up to 60%.

The warning from Grossi comes after French President Emmanuel Macron cautioned Western and European allies that Tehran is reaching a “point of no return” in its pursuit of nuclear-weapon-grade uranium earlier in January 2025.

Grossi called on Tehran and the Trump administration to begin talks to deter Iran from going further with its nuclear program.

It remains to be seen if President Donald Trump, who took a hardline with Iran during his first term, or Tehran will be open to a discussion.

Iran has repeatedly denied it is enriching uranium to make a nuclear weapon and claims that it is being used for peaceful purposes.""
-------------------------------------

Of course, nobody remembers the promise Netanyahu made regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions...

I'm not the one writing books and taking money from people, and then claiming to be a believer.

It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than it is for a rich man to get into heaven.

And his 50 million fortune says whattt?

Why don't you start your own thread, DomDom?

Call it "God Sucks!"

I promise, I'll drop some scripture on you now and then just to aggravate the "intellectuals" and keep the party going...

No, you seem to like using other threads, why can't anyone else?

No matter what you try to convince yourself and others about, I'll be here to insert reason.

You don't like reason you can't bs that way.

Of course, nobody remembers the promise Netanyahu made regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions...

God forgives me.

The Devil condemns me.

The atheist laughs at me.

The "Self Righteous" hold me to an impossible standard...
