In the General Message Forum there is a thread named "Aging rockers bickering". There, I found a quote from Tony (JAPOV): "I'm two hours from Nashville but can't afford the gas". That quote immediately got stuck in my head and I started jotting down lyrics of a song. I posted the song in that thread but I assume, like me, not everybody reads all the posts in all the different forums here. Therefore I'm posting it here once again. The song is called "Two hours from Nashville". Thank you Tony for the hook line. I used Suno for the music. Two Hours From Nashville https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14928496[Instrumental Intro] [Verse] Got a six-string in the backseat, an old amp in the trunk This beat-up car is my chariot, though it smells like sweat and junk I’ve been playing dive bars for quarters, dreaming ‘bout the Opry stage Tonight, it’s another smokey room where the tips don’t match the wage [Pre-chorus] The radio plays a country tune, and I sing along in my head A little voice says, “Keep driving,” but my wallet says, “Stay instead” [Chorus] I’m two hours from Nashville and can’t afford the gas A tank full of dreams but the money’s running out fast I’ve got the heart, I’ve got the songs, but the road’s too long to pass I’m two hours from Nashville and can’t afford the gas [Break] [Verse] Every mile marker feels like a tease, so close yet so far A skyline of promises that’s just out of reach for this guitar I’ve written songs about heartache, and now I’m living one tonight ‘Cause the only thing between me and my dream is a needle stuck on “E” light [Pre-chorus] The radio plays a country tune, and I sing along in my head A little voice says, “Keep driving,” but my wallet says, “Stay instead” [Chorus] I’m two hours from Nashville and can’t afford the gas A tank full of dreams but the money’s running out fast I’ve got the heart, I’ve got the songs, but the road’s too long to pass I’m two hours from Nashville and can’t afford the gas [Bridge] Someday I’ll make it, I’ll play those hallowed halls The crowd will sing along to my story, the rise after the falls Tonight I’ll strum my guitar, in a nowhere-town café Knowing every note I play is one step closer to that day [Interlude] [Chorus] I’m two hours from Nashville and can’t afford the gas A tank full of dreams but the money’s running out fast I’ve got the heart, I’ve got the songs, but the road’s too long to pass I’m two hours from Nashville and can’t afford the gas [Outro] So I’ll sing to the stars and the moonlight on this highway Hoping they’ll guide me, or at least keep the doubt at bay I’m two hours from Nashville, but it’s not the end of my path ‘Cause someday I’ll make it—who needs gas when you’ve got the last laugh? I’m two hours from Nashville and can’t afford the gas

... but my version is better Oh no, Tony! You're beginning to sound like Fdem. Of course you're the best. It's just that I like my version better. That's my personal opinion and it has nothing to do with you or your writing skills.

Hi Tony, why are you afraid to ask? I don't bite. Sure, do whatever you want to do with it. I'd love to hear your version.
All the best - Robert

Rob, it is a great hook, and an original one too as far as I can tell. This seems like it could be relatable to a lot of people in the music business, as I'm sure it takes a lot of fuel to make it all the way. I loved the bridge the most. Good stuff man.
I'm inclined to be musical But I'm not musicaly inclined

Download link... https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14937894See how close SUNO can get My 6-string's ridin' shotgun and wearing my old hat This beat up old truck has been to Hell-n-Back Been playin' local bars, dreamin'bout the Opry If home is where your love is, may the good Lord forgive me Every street sign tells me what direction I should choose My heart says “Keep on goin'" but my rent is past due I’m two hours from Nashville but can’t afford the gas My tank is full of dreams but my money’s burnin' fast I sing songs about life, truth, and love that never lasts I’m two hours from Nashville but can’t afford the gas I play for wings and beer 'caue I can't afford groceries The money I make barely pays for guitar strings The ladies like to dance but dismiss me with a laugh Died alone and broke will be my epitaph They say I'm hopeless but love to hear me sing I swear this stop sign is mocking me [Chorus] [Bridge] Someday I’ll show'em, I’ll play those hallowed halls That manager at Walmart won't be laughing at all [Chorus] [Outro] The new girl they hired to be a greeter Maybe she can be my backup singer...

What do you think? https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14938926I think with a little tweaking it could be even better. If you want to hear my opinion ... the sound is much better than the original. In your version it was hard to recognize the vocal melody. Suno did a great job identifying the melody and making the music sound richer. I have no idea what you were expecting but this AI stuff is really good. All the best - Robert btw, this was Suno's first take. I didn't run it though again and again.

I'm actually impressed! MAB would be proud That's a lot closer than I thought it would be.
