Hmmmn... Which version came first, Guy? It seems to me that the rhythm of the SUNO version doesn't quite fit... So, you tried to fix it with your ukulele
The Suno version sounds very smooth and professional but it's not able to sense when to increase its intensity. The lyrics of the chorus seems to call for a shift to a defiant mood, a break from the tone of the verse. Is there a way to tell the robot that? (I'm sure that if Bill's wife sings it, she won't need told LOL)
I have worked on my own melody before asking Suno to generate it's melody.
Someone on Muse wrote this: That's great, Guy! Interesting to compare the real version and the fake version. Thanks.
It's more fun to get my own melody than let it done by AI although it may sound better...
Well, my wife is outspoken/reactive regards the fake and phony of the world. The internet abounds. But i continue to spend time with the fake and phony, and I played the suno version of this song for her, and wonder of wonder ..she like!
So now I'd like to explore both versions of this poetic iteration The Wee Bird....and I thank Guy and Brad for allowing access. Guy has charted his melody. I'll start with that. Next I'll go figure the chords and melody of the suno.
I like this project personally, because it is at the very intersection of computer generated and real people generated. Of course the computer is just an extension of human. But the song must come through to humans to achieve its artistic realization.
Keep it simple and singable....and take ye to a open mic!
You can put that Open Mic venue in the Canada thread down the page so when Canadians come looking at JPFolk, likely to click on the Canada thread, they find mention of the local current event.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com
AI seems to do the same thing some singer/Song Writers do, jam the words into a 'space' as if the goal is to get to the end of the Line without delay. Some syllables/notes work better if given more emphasis than all the others. Listen to some people speak and note their voice rising and falling in pitch, 'notes' held for longer duration, clipped short in duration, the pauses (rests), the conversational style that also 'works' in delivery of the Melody and Lyric of a Song.

Thanks Gavin. You are right. I may never get back to the suno version...lol. Bill

Interesting you call it open mic...thanks....no wait....you refer to the venue...yes right. We moved our venue just recently....the place was losing money and sold. We moved to a new venue called the rebel garage....but its not easy getting it on video. if we do....good idea to post it in canadian section. Bill
