It had dawned on me, with the conception of this song, that these lyrics have always been a quiet prayer of mine since I was a teen, first learning to write lyrics and construct a melody. And I’m still waiting… however, any and all comments are appreciated by all of you, while first impressions are most welcome.
Thanks! 😎
"Just Out Of Reach" Words & Music by Tom Tognaci
Lord, grace me with a song, one the whole wide world will hear Help me write this song, one that’s music to the ear I know it’s out there… out of reach I know it’s out there… just out of reach
Lord, whisper to me words; one’s that open these locked doors Untangle my tongue with such words, not mine but yours I know they’re out there… out of reach I know they’re out there… just out of reach
I’ll leave a lamp lit on my roll-top My pen and paper will be yours Take your time, Lord, for I am patient As I’ve been, time after time, before
Lord, help me light the fire that inspires a melody One forged in the hearth in the flames of harmony I know it’s out there… out of reach I know it’s out there… just out of reach

Hi, I'm not religious freak, but I got a nice glow reading this,I like it but I think if you change the theme to peace it would have a stronger impact, you also have a fantastic title/hook in there, grace me with a song I suggest Grace me with peace then bring the troubles and solutions,
all the best, John

Hey Tom! Welcome back, sir!!
Yeah, man. This is definitely a good kick-off to the prayer every one of us writers have internally. Even those who are Agnostic can relate to putting out a call for help to the nether at some point. (think "old man yelling at clouds") :-)
Well done!
Peace,
Dave

all the best, John LOL...hey John, although I've written a few songs that were faith based, I am not a "Jesus Freak" But I most certainly acknowledge Him. Changing the theme would absolutely re-direct my whole point and inspiration of the song. LOL Yeah... thanks for stopping by. I do appreciate the comments. Hey Tom! Welcome back, sir!!

Nice one Tom
minor niggly ones (not one's) that open these locked doors
Oh and I believe it was technically not a hair style but a hair clip that created that style. Made you a little top heavy ...especially when made of oak, but you know the lengths kids will go to in order to be cool.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Hello Ironknee,
I really like this lyric. I think it builds up and up, as the storyline proceeds. You have music somewhere...I'll have to go listen. nice one. Bill

Hello, IK. This is a very well put together thought. The message is not lost at all and remains consistent throughout. No 'nits' from the north.

Hi bennash. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. The production to "Just Out Of Reach" sounds really nice and the melody is really good, but it is not me. I'm just not that polished, and don't really want to be. I haven't made a dime with music, but I am rich with the experience I've had writing and producing all my songs. And the truth is, Suno could make a turd sound good, so I can't get excited about the musical treatment of my lyric. I can see why we will take the inevitable turn in that direction. It's a superior production to whatever I do. Hello, IK. This is a very well put together thought. The message is not lost at all and remains consistent throughout. No 'nits' from the north. Thanks Douglas. I appreciate the comment!
