Valley of Time ©2024 Robert George
He wore a leather belt and camel hair Living as a prophet of The Lord O but on that mountain he despaired And lost sight of his reward
Cos a thousand years to us Is but a day to Him All mortal men are dust And so our sight is dim All saints must learn to wait With each mountain we climb Between the sky and ground, The cross and crown Lies a valley of time
He wore a leather belt and camel hair And prepared a pathway for The Lord O but in that prison he despaired In the hour of the sword
Cos a thousand years to us Is but a day to Him All mortal men are dust And so our sight is dim All saints must learn to wait With each mountain we climb Between the sky and ground, The cross and crown Lies a valley of time
First must come the patience of Job Then the crown of life and white robe
Cos a thousand years to us Is but a day to Him All mortal men are dust And so our sight is dim All saints must learn to wait With each mountain we climb Between the sky and ground, The cross and crown Lies a valley of time
A valley of time A valley of time
From the first advent to the second Our journey has been reckoned To cross a valley of time
To any unfamiliar with the Bible, Elijah lived in the 9th century BC, and dressed in camel hair and a leather belt. John the Baptist lived in the early 1st century AD. They dressed the same. Elijah was in many ways a “type” or prophetic picture of John.

hi, Bill. thanks for your replies on all three lyrics. If I understood your comment correctly on this one, I greatly appreciate the compliment, but I'm not fit to run for either of those great men's coffee.
