I’ve shared almost 4 decades of my life with my wife who is my copilot, my navigator and my best friend and I recently felt like writing a love song for her. I didn’t know how to start so I started writing about … well, writing a love song, which is the title of the song. I really like the way it turned out. It’s very emotional and very catchy. Just the way I wanted it. Writing A Love Song https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14834840[Intro] [Verse] It starts with a simple line Ooh, I got you on my mind Every word is a rhyme Our hearts they beat in time [Verse] My pen to paper slow These feelings start to flow My notes they softly glow This love that we both know [Chorus] I'm writing a love song For you and me These melodies that play In perfect harmony Whoa, I’m writing a love song [Verse] Every verse is like a dream Cause love's the sweetest theme Lines flow like a stream You and I the perfect team [Verse] Chords that feel so right Music in the morning light Singing all through the night And holding you so tight [Chorus] I'm writing a love song For you and me These melodies that play In perfect harmony Whoa, I’m writing a love song [Verse] Chords that feel so right Music in the morning light Singing all through the night And holding you so tight [Development] I'm writing a love song For you and me These melodies that play In perfect harmony Whoa, I’m writing a love song [Exposition] Just look into my eyes See stars in dark night skies Pure truth that never lies This love that never dies [Bridge] Words we sing together Through the endless night Moments that we treasure It just sounds so right [Interlude] [Chorus] I'm writing a love song For you and me These melodies that play In perfect harmony Whoa [Refrain] I'm writing a love song For you and me These melodies that play In perfect harmony Whoa, I’m writing a love song Whoa, I’m writing a love song [Outro]

I knew it would be good before I read the lyrics or listened. It's truly lovely. For some reason, It makes me think about all the women in the world who want nothing more than to have someone care for them like you care for your wife. And in addition to that, the song is a beautiful testament. Cherry on top. Lovely, Marty

When the program gives us complete control, like Solaria, that'll be a game changer! Nice lyric
The journey is definitely more important than the destination...

Hey Marty, this is an interesting topic. First off, I have a free account. I’ve got no problems with giving Suno credits for the music because I didn’t write the music. But, tell me, how does Suno know that they wrote my song? I almost always extend songs, upload those long (7-14 minute) tracks into my DAW and cut them down and rebuild them to 3-minute tracks. Sometimes I even add more instruments. Then I create a new mastered MP3 or WAV file of the song. I’m pretty sure that my new track doesn’t contain any hidden information that shows it was created by Suno or Udio. How does Suno know that they wrote the song? There are dozens of other AI song generators (e.g. ilovesong.ai) out there and they all work the same. Who knows which AI generator wrote which song? I don’t get it.
This is becoming an important issue for me because a few days ago I wrote a song for a local line dance bar called “Dixie Roadhouse” and they love the track. It could go viral (but not very likely) because they are choreographing a dedicated line dance for the song. I wrote the lyrics but used AI to create the track. I then reworked it like I described above. Who owns the rights?
All the best Robert

The only hunch that I have...
Of the millions/billions of songs that get no notice and create no significant income, it's "a tree in the forest" that made no sound. But if a song went viral and got a lot of attention, SUNO might have bots or something that scours the major outlets looking for anything that is in their file banks.
There is the additional wild-card dimension of the lawsuits that they are fighting with the labels over rights to the sounds and styles.
The gist is that I don't know.
But in a "vacuum," using a free account, it looks like SUNO has rights. All of the rights if they create the lyrics. This also undermines any claims that music created by SUNO using a free account is strictly the creation of the user.
Marty

Very nice. The only bit I felt didn't quite fit was the "interlude." It felt unnecessary and interrupted the flow. Maybe just me. I think this is one of the best I've heard from you.

Hi Gavin, thank you for taking the time to listen to my song and for the feedback. Your comments are very motivating. I've created a whole bunch of great songs with these AI tools lately. I promise I won't post all of them here (just one, every now and then). Take care - Robert

All the best Robert I don't think any of it will matter within 5 years. Every song possibility will have been produced to a point where massive corporations will use legal action and claim anything that makes money they aren't in control of on every level. If you own these companies (In my opinion they are both the labels and publishers already) who is going to sue and stop any of them from doing anything? Cases cost more than the earnings, so they only ones who can fight are those with corporate warchests and a team of attorneys who do nothing else all day. An individual without corporate backing can't win. This is why I think all copyrights should go public domain at the death of the last living author (not rights holder). That is in keeping with the real idea of copyright that those who create should benefit from their work. I would be for a short death benefit of perhaps 5 years to the surviving familiar heirs. But zero extensions for the benefit of corporations. I believe patents need to be similarly reformed back to individuals involved in creation alone. Corporate exploitation of the powerless individual must end.

That's as big a compliment as you can get right? I think the vocalists still have a long way to go in most cases. The irony is humans are using autotune so A.I. mimics their production and it actually causes them to sound fake as well. I read someone that a company is hiring thousands of vocalists and using them to train A.I. and paying them well to become the next generation of session singers. If you hire someone off of fiverr to sing or you use an A.I. replication of the same voice where they were also paid, what is the difference in the end? Soon, there won't be any. Original sounding performances will STILL have a huge advantage. When everything is blended together, sameness results. An original human will always have an advantage over a sound wave that has been processed over and over. I think new skills and approaches will develop taking music to new places that in the end we will enjoy on our own terms. Making it is more rewarding than listening ALWAYS and more valuable to society.

Creators of music have a responsibility to their craft. When they have finished using all the notes and words, they must pass them down to the next generation with a simple request. “Use these to create new music.”...Steven McDonald
