howd that happen? LOL

Ive done close to a 100 songs with Udio, of which i have maybe 25-30 ones i really like, some so so, others meh.

But ive been scanning the forum for old stuff and Im finding some of my decent hooks, but not stuff that was full song good.

I have windows 98 disk with a shiteload of stuff not sure how I can get that, the times i tried to get them from a disk transfer device it was password protected with no way to know wtf my password was in 98

I have about 5 songs, that i wont put through udio, because I liked them so much already from writing them that I wont let udio have them.

But this is a strange spot for me, ive always had songs.

Couchgrouch must have 5000 lyrics posted, wonder if he's using udio.

Also having trouble writing new stuff, i guess everybody hits a wall at some point.

Im waiting for AI to evolve to a point where I can do to the music side, what i have been doing to the lyric side, and of course sing them.

but ill be damned...

I have tons of drives I can no longer access. I have literally a half million missing photos from our events that are on Windows format Firewire which no one even makes anymore. So I have to likely buy a working ancient laptop with Firewire and access them that way in batches for transfer to something else, but even that is hard because no current tech works with that stuff so I have to bridge the gap between Windows Firewire (knd of rare to start with) and get them on a USB format still compatibile with current tech. Ack!

Mmmm....as long as your storeage hardware can convert Firewire to USB, (So Firewire out of the storeage device that then changes to a USB at the other end) then you can download the legacty Firewire drivers onto Win 10 or 11 to let it talk to the device

Google Windows Firewire and it should be helpful

I believe places like Geek Squad, and possibly some Ma and Pa computer tech stores could do it. Buts its costly.

I bought a device that plugs in to your current computer, and you put the old disks in that unit and the drive shows up on your new pc, and it works , but it has to be current enough. https://www.amazon.com/MAIWO-Duplic...1650108294225-B09YY4TJZK-&hvexpln=73

When i put the windows 98 and XP disks i have which contain literally hundreds of lyrics, mp3s, classic high school band recordings, everything, but it asks for a password, and every password i could think of failed.

Microsoft clearly doesnt like living in the past. You buy a new computer and when it goes, its nearly as cheap to buy a new one than it is to get the old one repaired. and thats by design,...keep buying microsoft.

But hard to believe in this day and age you cant copy whatever you need.

I think it could cost 1000 bucks to have a disk completely dumped somewhere else. And not even knowing where the good stuff is, might be on the different disk.

Rough,,,,

I have tried adapters (none work) but I am not clear on what you are suggesting. There is no firewire to usb interface that actually works. I bought 3 and had to return them all. It has been a couple years since I tried anything, but if a legit solution works, then I will try again. I google it but nothing legit comes up. Google results are worse and worse the more they insert A.I. into everything. They have neutered their own A.I. and made it fairly useless. It regularly gives out invalid advice and suggestions and there are tons of videos showing it has given out what would be fatal medical advice. A.I. is not actually intelligent. It also struggles when limiters and censorship rules get too murky and skew legit answers to support Googles political beliefs and strategies. When you force results that aren't based in reality, it skews everything into chaos. Of course, when they le is simply speak freely, it suggests stuff like genocide and other unpleasant actions. It is NOT intelligent, it is simply a long series of programming made by humans, with their biases and opinions flawing any chance of reality in the results.
