With so much negativity going on, I thought I'd start a happy thread. This thread is for all those things that make you happy. Don't Worry, Be Happy, John

Things that make me happy... sitting down at the piano and composing, playing with my crazy dog, sitting on the porch talking with my wife, a beautiful sunny day, much more to add, but I don't want to be a hog. John

Nobody has any reason to be happy? That's sad... John

In my experience, contentment and a sense of well being are more achievable and enduring goals.
If one can achieve being in-the-moment ,that is good fortune.

If one can achieve being in-the-moment ,that is good fortune. Contentment and a sense of well-being are only the results of favorable activities. So, what activities result in contentment and a sense of well-being for you? BTW, we're all in the moment. The past or future doesn't exist. John

For me: Bills are paid. Debt is low. a few bucks to fall back on...puts the devil a little further in the rear view. Am working at 72 but not real hard. Never plan to stop. Govt sends me a check just for not being dead. Knowing that my wife of 35 years is there. Hobbies that put me in the moment: Going to the gym and getting several minutes of oxygen saturated blood running through me. Taking trips on a motorcycle, riding 20 miles up a dirt road to a mountain pass, having nothing to do all day long but watch beautiful scenery go by. Writing. Working up songs, piece by piece, in my DAW, is my latest "in-the-moment" find. We differ concerning what defines "in-the-moment." For me, life is perception that is deemed "reality." No two perceptions are exactly the same. Within a perception, you can be fearful of the future, haunted by the past, while eating a hamburger in the same exact moment. Being "in-the-moment" is becoming completely immersed in how good the hamburger tastes with no immediate concern for past or future. If a person can sit quietly alone in a corner somewhere and asked themselves...."Are you glad to be alive and grateful for your life?"....with the answer being an immediate and unequivocal yes...I believe that person is "happy." To me, jubilation is something else. The world according to Marty. Worth what you paid for it John.
