Hi Folks,

I have tried to please as many folks here as possible. It isn't working. So...

1. If you are tired of hearing from a troll, it is simple. You click their profile, and then you click "Ignore User" Note: As the only global moderator, I can't ignore anyone. So if you click "Ignore User" but you continue to see their posts, please let me know. I am not sure if the feature is working. But if it IS working, you will never hear from a troll again. Use the feature if it works!

2. I locked the "rant" post. If you want it to go away, simply add new content to the General message board (not spam, actual new posts on topics related to music or other artistic pursuits). Once enough new posts occur, that post will drop to page two and be gone for most viewers.

3. Stop being jerks to ANYONE. Just STOP it. If you don't, then all I can do is stop YOU.

The poison has cost us most of our best users. We need to be a fun place to post music. I need moderators. People who will actually keep an eye out for poison and let me know. If you would like to be part of the solution, send me a PM and become a moderator.

Perhaps what the site needs is a "Loose Log".

I'll explain...

Naval Hospital Philadelphia had a psych ward back in the 80s/90s full of "IWOOTNs".
(I Want Out Of The Navy) lol... An abbreviation the staff used quite often.
I was cross trained, I had multiple NECs. So, When I wasn't in the field with 2nd Mar Div, I could also work ER, ICU, MSW, SDS, LnD, Psych, etc...
Anyway,
The Psych ward was always relatively slow. However, in true military fashion, every hour of every day still had to be officially "logged".
To combat the tedium, we on the Psych ward had an extra log; A Loose Log.
ANYTHING could be recorded in the Loose Log lol... And anything was.
Mostly, the enlisted staff would try to convince the Doctors that we were all fuk'n crazy. But, legitimate rants would certainly be logged as well...
It was actually lots of fun.

I suggest we change the name of the "Rant Arena" to the "Loose Blog", and pin it to the top of the General Message Forum; So everyone can plainly see who the usual suspects and part time comedians are.

Also, if you need a site janitor... I respectfully volunteer.

They had same capabilities to ignore a user.

And after all this time I'd say they are Facebook addicted whereas they used to be jpf addicted.

As John says there were many good songwriters and people at least serious about it
