I told you that flattery will get you nowhere. Just so happens I'm working on a song now with another guitarist which should be done in a couple of weeks. But here is the good news for you. I am truly bored with the idiocy that has become just plain Dom. And if Brian and people here allow you to stay, then I am going to quit participating in any of this. You will have won.

My bet is that you stay and I go. Think of it, everything will be perfect then. :-)

You probably should get another hobby

My other hobby is long distance motorcycle riding on a Honda adventure bike. And doing Mountain trails on a Honda dirt bike. But I love writing songs. It is a hobby, because it is not my profession, but I have the same passion for it. So I'm not ever going to quit. I may just be doing it somewhere where Dom is not crapping in his hand and tossing turds at me.:-)

you seem like a sincere guy with a genuine desire to write good songs. More power to you. I hope to see you opening for Aldean. But there are differences of opinion. I have mine.

Stepping back from this, it appears to me that I am the bad fit here, not you. Please don't think that I am wanting to chase you away.

Bro, you belong here just as much as anyone else. I have no beef with you and you are absolutely allowed to have a different opinion than me. Differing opinions does not make you a bad person or unwelcome. Just Plain Folks means we are all equal here. "We're all in this together" means despite where we are in our creative journeys, one thing is for sure. We're all here with a similar passion to write songs. Some of us do it professionally and make some money doing it while others do it with no monetary expectations at all. BOTH are fine. I've made a decent amount of money writing songs. I've got my accolades. I will likely achieve more. I understand that's not the norm. That's more than okay.

And thank you. I do have a genuine desire to write good songs. I tell stories with my lyrics. I hope to inspire others. Speaking of which, I do have a story.

This story to me is far more valuable than all the money in the world.

I wrote a song for a band once. The song is called "Guitar". It was performed all over Germany and Europe and was played on the radio everywhere there. The day the song released for streaming, a fan reached out to me on Twitter. She had been having a bad day and was planning to take her life when she got home from school.

Instead, when she got home, she received a notification that "Guitar" was now available for streaming.

She reached out to me on Twitter to say thank you because apparently my song saved her life. She got home from school and played the song. Then she played it over and over for the rest of that evening. All desires to take her own life had left and the song inspired her to live instead.

That's what it's all about. No matter who we are, where we come from, or what we do, what matters is how we make others feel. If we inspire others to live, we've done our job.
